They can't find him - no-one seems to know where he is.
He’s pretty active on LinkedIn - most recently congratulating the new CIO at the Guardian a few weeks ago….

I am interested to know, when you actually voted for Johnson to lead the British Government for the next 5 years were you aware that you were voting for a total incompetent, or were you one who was fooled by his Boris dim-but-nice ha-ha jolly good persona ???
FFS - just ONCE, just ONCE, can you not derail a thread with your petty political sniping ? If you're so desperate to call people out over their voting habits then stick to one if the political threads. Pretty sure the mods have pointed this out to you before. Just stick to the PO scandal in this thread - it covers all political parties. You're becoming an arrogant political bore in every thread you post in.

Well done. You've called out the biggest bullshitter of the lot. Take something somebody says, invent two binary things he* thinks they might/you want them to mean (they don't). Neither of which apply, but both of which he thinks he can pile in on with derogatory statements, and then bleats that he hasn't got the answer he wanted so he can't demonstrate (what he perceives to be) his superior morality, perspicacity and intelligence. Moral high ground? No .................. bullshit.

* substitute she, they or it if appropriate.

It's going to take another 3 years, at least, but maybe, just maybe, justice will be delivered.
I would love to see that lawyer in Australia who refused to participate in the enquiry extradited and flown in from Australia with a police escort.

A shocking couple of days at the enquiry, a load of influential people involved on the side of the PO back in the day. An incompetent/corrupt Chair (Vennells boss), separately attempts to bully the BBC.

A good summary here from 14:42, you might need a spider's web diagram for all the characters involved.

Well said. WZ has been on my ignore list for exactly what you posted. It's been lovely not reading his/her/their BS.

Glad that he appears to have accepted it.
This individual deserves accolades, and I guess a knighthood is a fitting recognition of his efforts over recent years.

That point accepted, I can’t help thinking that the people behind the award are the same people handing awards out to Paula Vennels et al.

It’s not any slight on Bates but as we continue to lurch from one “establishment” rooted crisis to “establishment” rooted crisis, with all the incumbent incompetence associated with it (whether political or administrative) awards to campaigners feels disingenuous.

I would rather the likes of Vennels were stripped of their gongs, pensions and personally fined and/or imprisoned. A far more fitting tribute frankly.

Money … got to be only way of hitting them hard. Pensions imho.

sickening

Newsnight just spent some time on this. The PO were lying to PO ministers in the coalition period 2010 to 2015.

When it comes eventually to the CPS, please no traditional British cop out. This deserves a thorough and determined police investigation (hopefully well under way) and case to go to criminal trial. Conspiracy one of many possible charges.

This needs more than individual prosecutions. It calls in to question the way that employed lawyers are conflicted between their obligations to their profession and to their employer. There should be no more prosecutions from anyone but the state CPS.

There’s still a big place for it for the RSPCA. Over 1,400 convictions for animal cruelty each year. Without this, the police/CPS would put animals at the bottom of the pile.

The enemies of the RSPCA (some Tory MP’s, also rural thugs, in a nutshell vile scum) have long called for an end to RSPCA powers. The reason is obvious.

I agreed with his rebuke, but there is no need for that. Play the ball...

And while I agree with you, this is the post office thread. Watch out for 'derailment apocalypse' vituperation incoming. ???
