I wasn't suggesting using two wrongs, just a complete switch to personal insults, which have proven to be OK to the moderators.

Problem is, in my humble, continuous piss taking AND over the top insults will simply turn genuine people off the site. I don't want to read that sort of thing. It depends what sort of site you want I guess. I tend to use the what would you say to someone's face guide for what is/isn't acceptable. Internet warriors are a tiresome breed.
