Poor away support

from the main stand at Wolves - the Albion fans were excellent, loud, witty and full of encouragement. Every Wolves "gayboy" chant was met with derision and the perfect put down. Easily 1,500 there with everyone singing/standing up, etc. "You're too ugly to be gay", "he's over there", "one nil to the nancy boys" and "just like watching West Brom" were loud and brilliant.

from the local Radio Wolf post match phone in "how can a team loike Brighton bring 1,000 (???) fans and outsing us for the entire match? why can't our fans be like theirs (then went on to say how brilliant Pompey fans are).

Great day, great stadium with our away fans doing the biz!

It is a shame that at Tottenham - a game where we will probably get more media coverage - our fans won't look/sound as good as they did at Wolves as the stand will be full of day trippers incapable of singing anything other than al-beeeeee-on, and because we will be forced to sit in our allocated seats.

Not necessarily. I think a lot of us sat in allocated seats at West Ham (at least I did) The whole away crowd was up for singing that day.

Maybe with it being an FA cup draw the same sort of atmosphere may be generated.

I really enjoyed Wolves, I thought the atmoshpere was good and its a cracking stadium.
I thought there chant of 'We can see you holding hands' was particularly funny.

Good work all round.

You are correct, in my elation at getting a draw and reading the gumpf on the way home I misread the figure of the capacity.

However I went in to the shop on Christmas Eve and bought my tickets and when my sons phoned to find out the opening times there was a recorded message stating that the club had returned all UNSOLD tickets to Wolves.

So according to that we didnt sell out our allocation of 1750 perhaps my estimate was low but it wasnt anything like the figure that I would have expected from a club that can sell 5400 tickets for Spurs to regular supporters so quickly.

jesus some people on here seem to forget we're not man united or arsenal, we dont have huge support ffs we've a decent fanbase for a club our size, i think to take just under 2000 to wolves just after christmas in the championship is quite a sizeable amount, a lot more than a lot of clubs would take in that division that dont have to travel as far either. of course more people want to go to spurs, fans who perhaps cant get to many games a season will obviously pick and choose between the bigger games, left me ticket-less as i was a day late in sending off my cheque but hey ho thats my fault no-one elses.

Some people wouldnt be happy unless they were moaning about something i swear.

Disagree, all that will be missing is the sound of hundreds of STH's unwrapping their flasks of Cocoa, spreading their blankets over their knees and gently tut-tutting at the thought of the club not being run for their personal benefit.

This and El Pres' post are the two best I have read on here in weeks!!!!

I salute you both, and ask that you deal out your common sense more often so more can benefit.

Well we didn't get there until half time! :(

9 of us including Buzza and DCLAD! We took a fair number to Wolves!

Saw an exciting 0 0 draw!

The Wolves website also said that the game was all-ticket for Albion fans and all tickets had been sold and Albion fans should not travel without tickets.

I called Wolves yesterday morning and was able to buy a ticket, in the Albion section, without any problem whatsoever.

Go figure.

If i'd have known this i would have gone up and paid on the day. I didn't get a ticket beforehand as i did not know what state i would be in to drive up there.

The Wolves phone line also said that tickets were unavailable for away fans on the day, but were available for home fans.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr:angry: Well make sure you get off your fat arse and get those around you makin some noise. This is a chance to show to shite like Spurs who look down their nose at us what good support sounds like. So if those around you keep quiet have a fuckin go at 'em.

We will.

But it won't take long for either the muppets behind us or the stewards to make us sit down and be quiet.
