Poor away support

Brovian said:
PS Bwian, I am on a bit of a wind-up ('NSC baiting' as Monster Munch called it) but every time there is a big game I am truly sick of the "My legless granny who has been to every home game since 1914 can't get a ticket because the club sold it to a Fat Cat Corporate Sponsor" posts.

Fed up indeed. But only because of the alarming regularity at which these threads appear (ie every time we have a big game)

It realy is about time that the club sorted it out.

People on here have been saying what a marvellous away support we have but do we?

Bank Holiday, playing a team just above us in the division who we could overtake if we won so an important game and only 3 hours up the road.

What do we get half of a stand that holds 2000 people and then only about 75% full with plenty of empty seats.

I estimate we had about 800 maximum at the Wolves game is this good suport?

800 What are you chatting about!!!

we took 1,500 - 1,700 up to wolves, get your facts right before you go slagging people off

A lot of us on this board have familys. At this time of year I like to spend time with them. Normally my partner works at weekends which makes going to games hard since my children are too young to either enjoy, understand or sit still long enough to watch a game of football. If not being a STH or not going to all away games makes me less of a fan then you, then so be it. I love this club, buy stuff in the shop, donate regular amounts to the A&K and still remember the utter dispair I was in before Virgo scored that header against Swindon. I also recall the unparlled elation I felt when he scored it. FFS i nearly got bared from my local for running around the pub (no I was not at the game because I am not a true fan like you) screaming at the top of my voice f***ing 'AVE IT at the lone Swindon fan who had being giving it the large for the previous 1/2 hour.

I love this club, you love this club. Why can't we love each other and respect that for various reasons some are able to see more games then others?

All true fans will be there, the part-timers will just whinge on here about how unfair it all was.

What a load of shite. I, like many people it would seem, know someone who has only missed Forest away this year (due to work), yet has missed out on a Spurs ticket through no fault of his own. And suggesting that he should have gone to WHL to buy it is ridiculous, few people are able to afford the time and expense it takes to get to the other side of London just to get to the ticket office. He should have been able to trust the club's ticketing system.

Bens Grandad talks a load of rubbish about how many away fans there were at Wolves (getting his figures wrong) and within minutes gets fans of all descriptions arguing amongst each other again.

During the war he would have be known as a fifth columnist.

i think we mostly all agree the ticket system is a joke - i do wonder how many supporters the club have lost due to how they do the ticketing - from the grimsby game till now

Loyalty is not rewarded at this club.

That is an objective view. Do you give loyalty because you choose to be loyal without reward and what rewards do you expect?

If you'd read further down you'd have seen me admit that my tongue was partly in my cheek when I made that comment, I don't really believe that if you haven't got a Spurs ticket you're not a true fan.

However the oblique point I was making is that the majority of NSC posters think that being a STH and/or going to all the away games means they should get priority for the 'plum' games. I don't disagree, but there are a lot of people out there who for one reason or another nowadays can't go every week (like me). We should not automatically be at the back of the queue, and I've done my share of trips to places like Swansea on Wednesday night. You know the arguement: "If you didn't go to Priestfield every week you're not a true fan, if you don't go to every away game you're not a true fan, if you didn't go to the Stoke Rotherham or Crew games you're not a true fan, if you're not prepared to got to WHL and queue for a ticket you're not a true fan." All those statements are crap.

You won't be at the back of the queue, you will just be behind the 400 or so fans that do go to every game.

The reward of not missing out on a chance to continue giving loyalty to someone who has not been as loyal.

i was in lower part, and i got my tickets on the day and was told only a handful of our original allocation left, so i reckon we had about 1650 there.
