No point polling on a BHA board as we don't represent a true reflection of the English out vote.
We can separate those that voted Leave and those the voted Remain and apply their other preference to the country's 52/48 result.

The simple fact is that most people in this country - well over 50% - would like to keep something similar to the free trade and free movement of people that exists now.

Would have thought there should be more poll options. Free Trade and Free Movement Of People are two completely separate issues shirley?

Both enshrined in the Treaty of Rome so badically hand in glove in that the free movement of people and goods are effectively entwined

I understand that but it is a two way street. Part of my reason to vote remain was to preserve my right to work and/or live in another EU country. Lots of Brits do.
Fair enough, but don't think many Brits need or possibly have the guts to go to another country to find work. Back in the Eighties my mate went over to leipzig looking for Brickie work. He was with a gang of five, the site wanted three and they promptly escorted the other two back into france to make their way home.

Surely we must find a way to control this. I know part of the problem is our own government but in Bognor we have the migrants stacked 10 to a flat undercutting the local workforce and demoralised youngsters priced out of jobs. These people have felt they have no choice but to believe in Brexit. Others may choose to mock them but when you have nothing, you have less to lose.

I looked into the pro and cons of this decision and some of the remainers concerns don't match my concerns. Being in the construction industry it has been a struggle to earn a wage to cover the bills that were easily affordable only 5 years ago.

All this didn't need to happen if Gordon Brown had given us the referendum at the Lisbon treaty stage, which the clown didn't even turn up on time to sign. In my opinion the country would have kicked the EU into touch.

This decision has, albeit temporarily ripped my family apart. The well off in my family remain and the not so lucky are leave.

I did not vote for Farages white UK dream. He is a relic of the tebbit era of diplomacy, but i was forced to side with his anti EU stance. The EU commission has become something bigger than it was set up to be.

Democracy, who'd have it😥

We're probably a lot closer in our views than you think. I also feel for the residents of Calais who live under terrible pressures. I'm just a bit hacked off that yours, mine and all of ours decision as to whether we decide to move to an EU country now falls into the hands on an unelected bureaucrat.

Perhaps greater government investment in housing and infrastructure over the last few years would have helped the construction industry.

So, as it stands:
9 out of 25 Leavers would accept the free movement of people, in exchange for free trade.
58 out of 60 Remainers (god knows what the other 2 were doing, probably Palace fans) the same.

So that’s 36% of the leavers (which were 51.9% of the voters)
+ 96.7% of the remainer (48.1% of the voters)

= 65% of voters want to keep free trade with the EU, and accept the free movement of people for it.

They are separate issues, but you tend to get one with the other. We're not going to accept free movement while having no trade, and they're not going to give us free trade without us accepting free movement.

If you can be bothered to type it up with 8 poll options, go for it, and we'll ask the mods to delete this one. If not, shut the **** up and post your ****ing vote you ****ing ****.

You have hard linked the two. That's not the situation, but your interpretation of what the situation MIGHT be when we start negotiations.

Yes I have. If our negotiators can get us free access to the EU market without allowing the free movement of people in return, then I take my ****ing hat off to them.

Yes, that is what I think is likely. If the EU don't accept our request for free trade without the free movement of people, but they offer the latter, most UK voters would accept that.

There is one possible alternative, which was raised by the deputy leader of the German CDU this morning - the idea that we can have free trade (including passporting, so more or less single market membership), with some limits on migration, if we are willing to pay more into the EU. Not sure how that would go down with the electorate, given the fuss about the "£350m", mind.
