There was a SMALL crowd being heavily held off by police, they are protesting for something they believe in, as far as i know, they broke a couple of windows and then carried on with their business. PLEASE can people on here stop over reacting because these people are all students, you were students once. Also, being a student myself, i think it is completely outrageous at the new 'cuts', f***ing tory government.

Slightly ironic that the protesters are annoyed that businesses are not paying what they feel is their 'fair' share of tax, yet their protest leads to thousands of pounds of taxpayers money needed to police the streets. (Yes the figures aren't comparable, but the protesting in that fashion isn't going to achieve anything!)

When I was in Brighton there were just loads of police milling around doing nothing for hours.

You make that sound perfectly ok, but it's criminal damage and I hope they get prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for it (which would result in a criminal recors, and big problems getting a job in the future).

If he's not breaking the law then I don't really care. If you think it's not right, then get the law changed. which you're not going to do by this sort of protest.

On the one hand you have a group of protesters, who angry at the inequality and hypocrisy demonstrated by successive governments, have got up and actually done something in a manner that doesnt physically harm anyone, in order to draw attention, to the fact that in our so called democracy there is no other means for effectively fighting back.

On the other hand you have a merchant of hate who threatens to commit a criminal offence of assault with a weapon, even though we all know if he had any real intention of doing anything other than sitting on his arse at his keyboard hed have gone and done it, in order to make himself sound clever.

I'm pleased I seem to stick in your mind so... although I am slightly alarmed at your constant badgering at me now rather than at what is being debated. Remember there is a difference and I thankfully do not represent anyone other than my self.

Also, its a fair cop to assign me to these given my thread involvement and actions lately but not me guv' honest. I was at work today, flipping burgers (even though we don't flip them). Ukuncut is a movement I support but don't participate in. I keep my actions firmly in the court of education cuts/fee rises!

The attacks on Vodefone during our protests however is linked to the reason this protest is happening - the tax evasion. Given that vodafone dodged something like six billion (I think it was billion...) pounds and the cuts to education are estimated to be worth 7.2 billion, you can see why we'd target Vodefone.

But like I say i've been working and earning my crust.

I can't - if anything you'd be better off protesting to the treasury or your MP - but neither will make any difference.
