dunno I'm lost
Fair enough but I think your single mother from whitehawk comment is a bit of a cheap shot at anyone who disagrees with you, unless you are referring to the media. I for one would not chastise such a person for making the same call as the McCanns.

Yes, I was referring to the media, but I do also believe it would make a difference to quite a few

Because it was being treated as an abduction rather than a murder?

So what has changed? The child could have been murdered and the body disposed with. It was the MCcanns who said she was abducted, but surely every avenue should be explored at the time. The police would have at least known for sure whether they were looking for a child or a body.

I dont know why, but I have a gut feeling that not everything is what it seems.

I think some people would feel far more at home posting on the Daily Mirror's forum on this subject:

http://forums.mirror.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=31

where 'Team McCann' continually receives a right royal slating by most and the conspiracy theories would be wonderful, if it were not for the fact this didn't all revolve around the as yet unsolved disappearance of a 4 year old little girl.

I am beginning to come across to that way of feeling as well. For instance I didn't know until now that they'd left the doors and patio windows unlocked. Why on earth would you do that?

I think the police obviously didn't rule out murder in the first instance, but would'nt have expected her to have been murdered in the room and therefore did not perform examinations that would've found microscopic traces of blood.

LC, if you look back on what I have written you will find I am not disagreeing with anything you have said. I think there is something extremely questionable about the parents account of what happened.

Try this tonight, cut yourself and spray a little blood around a little on the walls. Then wipe it off, wipe if off so efficiently that it cannot be seen by the naked eye but needs a specially trained sniffer dog to find it. See quite how long it takes to clean up that well. If it is less than 30 minutes you've done a good job.

I know we have similar views here.

Moving it slightly to another issue, I know many people are uncomfortable with the levels of CCTV we have in this Country - we have the highest concentration per head in the world - but in case it would sure have helped the Police to track down movements around the area. And I imagine a similar complex in the uK would have been CCTV up to the rafters.

Parents f*** up big time and then embark on a European Tour, yeah seems sensible to me. Any parent on here who would try and make light of their child neglect which led to this mess is an unhealthy parent in my eyes.

Whoops, I didnt mean to start all this !!!

Latest on sky news;

The McCanns spokesman says they have spent 30 mins in the local police station for 'informal talks'

where were you on the night in question? mmmmmmmmmm?

mm?

the pictures of that couple waving a la posh & becks to a crowd of adoring moroccans waving little photos of their daughter convinced me at least that they are very guilty of something, either shameful self-promotion or much worse....

Seems like those Mirror readers are all amateur psychologists and forensic experts.

Looks like quite a few questions are being asked about what really happened that night. Seems like the local press are prepared to make allegations and raise suspicions the UK press won't for some reason.

I think that is because we won't condemn our own abroad unless and until we have to. Does anyone remember that Nanny case in America, where everyone though the British girl was innocent when it was obvious to me, and no doubt others, that she was lying and was guilty as hell.

While that is true, let's not get too carried away about the Portuguese being pure seekers of truth and justice. All the recent stories have been basically planted quotes from 'sources close to the investigation', ie the police themselves - and they have a very clear agenda to start shifting the focus somewhere other than their piss-poor attempts to solve this. Forensically it's been a shambles, and the whole naming Murat as a suspect thing without charge has been a farce.

If any good can possibly come out of this, I hope one of the things is that people start to appreciate how professional our police are MOST of the time. And anyone who thinks criticism of the Portuguese police is petty-minded xenophobia are just living in a fantasy world, totally deluded.

on one level they dont want to beleive they could have done anything wrong - nor does anyone, how could they? on another they have simply invested so much into them being the unconsolable parents of an abucted child. the fact that the papers have never really dabbled in the point so hottly contested here and everywhere else, should they have left their child alone in this way, shows that this is far more than simple backing the Brit.

I should probably stay away from such threads.

And if I ever find out which sick moron from this website left 'tributes' on Anastasia's website this afternoon I'd like to invite them over for dinner, then they ask us those twisted questions to our faces. The tributes have been removed, the headers and screen shot still exist, but the abuse has been reported to the web hosts and while I am not sure what detail they will give out to me I hope they'll give me enough to name and shame you on here because I wouldn't think twice.

And now I'll bow out, because whatever you think of me or my husband, when some sick numbnut takes their bullcrap because of our comments on this forum and our parenting choices, to my daughters memorial enough is enough.

The link is gone from my profile here and I hope to heaven you never see my daughters site again because she did nothing to deserve your disgusting words.

Whilst i know zilch of this, i'd like to personally apologise to Starry for whomever did this. Hard to imagine that anyone on here would post something twisted on memorial website. I hope they string em up.

Starry, if you are aiming that at him, then you are very much mistaken.

I'm very sorry that you had posts on your daughter's website, and i hope that you find whoever it was that wrote it on there. Please don't remove the website from your signature, as it has been really interesting to hear about personal experiences of your loss, and i'm sure because of it, people have signed up to donate bone marrow & blood.
