Worthing
I don't understand why anyone should have a problem with speculation/rumours about who we might be signing. Such threads are far more interesting than most of the non-Albion/football related rubbish which prevails on here!

Perhaps it would be helpful to remove post counts, as I'm sure some people just try to make as many posts as possible to make them look like an uber fan. No one should make the mistake of equating the number of posts to the person's passion for watching the Albion or their credibility.

I've come back home.
How many more rumour threads from people supposedly 'in the know' or starting tedious or pointless threads. It is becoming boring.

If they had their own area on the site, they could post and after a 3 or 6 month 'hello' period they could join the main board provided they had posted something worthwhile?

It is only going to get worse as we get towards the Amex...........:US:

Have a proper look at the rumour threads and you will see that although there is a large number posted by JCL's but there is also a large number from regular posters.

What if one of these rumours are true? What if a JCL had something very important and very interesting to say, you would miss them wouldn't you?

And actually there are many JCL's that don't post rubbish, have structured, well reasoned arguments and add value to the wider NSC. You have just selected a specific area (transfer rumours) to highlight the issue of promotion=popularity=more posters on NSC without thinking it through.

I don't mind the rumours at all, but it annoys me when someone starts a new thread and says they "have it on good authority" or it's "from the horse's mouth".

This will not happen, it is all part of the NSC make up, we have discussed splitting areas and making other sections etc etc, most are against it anyway, but apart from that, it is all these things combined that make NSC what it is.

These sort of things are discussed in Mod Towers when we have our meetings (and share out our porn stash) it is also agreed that like any successful organisation, we need new input, this we get from new members (Or JCLs as they are now known) we are due a monthly banning meeting at Mod Towers soon, where my very own release of important information about Dave Beckham will be given the seal of approval.
Point of order: The correct term for new posters on NSC is 'Newbies'. A JCL is someone who used to support Chelsea or whoever and now has a ST at the Amex. Someone who is a Newbie is not necessarily a JCL, indeed I think quite a few of our newbies are the exact opposite of JCLs.

That's all, carry on .....

Disclaimer: Not that there is anything wrong with being a JCL, come one come all, need to sell the tickets, don't want just 5000 Withdean die-hards rattling round Falmer, etc etc etc.

I liked Lord B's suggestion the other day of moving the rumour spam to the Childish Ramblings thread. So maybe we could have a childish ramblings button on each thread. If enough people click on it, it will alert the mods to move it!

Perhaps just a ban for starting threads about unrealistic transfer targets. Beckham , Owen what next Zidane out of retirement?

There is more chance of Pippa Middleton oiling her naked body in the centre circle at half time whilst Jedward belt out Sussex by the sea

100% in line with this thinking.

I want NSC to create a new subsection so that people can post all the things I'm not interested in it that section (it can contain subsections on cricket, reality tv, betting odds, read my blog, guess who I saw, threads about proving yourself a fan (how many games have you been to?, Trivia time!, Who remembers...? etc.), attendance threads (who's going to...?), and threads about people called David) - I reserve the right to suggest more sub sections as I see more threads I'm not interested in.

I want Bozza or the mods to add a test to the registration process and only grant membership to those who will only be posting things I'm interesting. It's bad enough there are already people on here who enjoy posting and reading about things I have no interest in, but I think we need to stop more of them joining.

I also want the mods to make sure people only start threads about things I'm interested in. Can you please go through every thread and post put in by anyone who joined in the past year and/or has fewer than 9000 posts and delete them/move them to the new 'Things Acker isn't interested in' section as relevant?

I know there's an ignore feature, and a report feature.
I know I can just not click on a thread.
I know this will take some time that the mods could use for better things such as work, leisure, having a life etc.
I know this is a board for all albion fans and not meant to be catered to the interests of one individual
But damnit if other people can post "suggestions" to make NSC "better" (i.e. only what they want), so can I!

Many of the old timers on here post much more tosh than any of the newbies.

Take Simster for example.
