Not an ounce of truth in either of these (to my knowledge) and sorry put put yet more irons in the rumour fire, but Ingimarsson released by Reading (as mentioned above) and Hahnemann released by Wolves today. Both would be great signings for us IMO.

Agree, a fit Ingimarsson might be a good signing. He has had a lot of injury problems though.

I think you'll find the term is closed season, it derives from the hunting term for the period in which hunting is banned in order to protect animals/ fish during their breeding season.

Close season, like "early doors" is a term used& made popular by lazy sports reporters and nobhead analysts (Ron Atkinson)

as used by this website.

Off-season

The off-season, vacation time, or close season is the time of year when there is no official competition. Although upper management continues to work, the athletes will take much vacation time off. Also, various events such as drafts, transfers and important off-season free agent signings occur. Generally, most athletes stay in shape during the off-season in preparation for the next season. Certain new rules in the league may be made during this time, and will become enforced during the next regular season.

At 33 he would be a good back up for anybody across the back four as I believe that he can play full back as well as central defender.

I drove through Bolnore last evening and saw a tall blonde man running in a BHA tracksuit, think it could have been Tunnicliffe and what struck me was the fact that he had a BHA tracksuit one which showed , to me, that whoever it was is obviously proud to be asociated with the club. Had the person not liked the club to my mind he would have just worn a pair of Adidas or Nike bottoms and a T shirt or top but he had the Errea one on. Could he have been told he is in Gus plans again?

Or could it just have been a fan out running in an Albion tracksuit? ???

Prince Bauben
Adam Rooney
Clayton Donaldson
Abdoulaye Meite
Pascal Chimbonda
Will Buckley
Johnjo Shelvey (loan)

Any of the above would do fine.

I thought that it looked like Tunnicliffe as I drove past the other way, unless of course anybody knows that he is away on holiday and not in USA with Titus Bramble as per the sick thread on another site.

His Twitter account (which is actually real), suggests he is currently on holiday in Las Vegas.

John-Paul McGovern could comfortably play in this Brighton team. Not got much pace, but technically he is very very good and if the plan is to play Bennett more infield with someone else out wide, I think he would do the job well. He had the highest number of assists in the league when Swindon finished 5th, that was partly down to the brilliance of Paynter and Austin, but I think he would create goals in any team. It wasn't his fault he was under appreciated in a rubbish Swindon team this season.

Just read that Harewood is talking to Notts County? I reckon he might be useful not the most skilful but as a battering ram and getting in yer face sort of player he could deliver perhaps .. he certainly likes running at the opposition and has a pretty good shot on him .. dunno about the rest

As for any serious rumours most of this is a couple of weeks away at least

No good, once he earn's a contract he seem's to think his job is done, also a very lazy player with attitude, couldn't see Gus looking at him for 1 minute. This is a good thread as in the same time we're eliminating the players we don't want.....

Yeah I wouldn't be against McGovern, come to think of it. Always struck me as a good footballer and seems to create a lot of goals. Would be a similar signing to Hoskins in some ways, in that he is a good player in a crap team.

He is a very good set-piece taker aswell, so he adds another element to the team there. He was at his best in a Swindon team with a raiding right full back in Kevin Amankwaah, we have Calderon playing the same role but in a more subtle and genius way so I think he would suit our style well. He wouldn't cost much in wages I wouldn't think, and I'm fairly sure I'm right in saying he's out of contract with Swindon because I was recently told he was offered new, reduced terms. I think he wouldn't be a particularly exciting signing, but a solid team signing.

Perhaps not him then, as I said I only drove by going the opposite way and it looked like him.

Quite possibly Paul Rogers, he runs for miles and keeps himself in shape, he's also one of the management team at my sons football club...Could do a job ??
