Pork pie land.
Ok guys and girls, as this Board appears to have no live rumors about players we are close to signing (and is full of off-topic threads), and in attempt to keep the excitement going, I thought it would he helpful to have a thread where people could post those little rumors that they have heard.

So over to you -

I like the way you started with "OK guys and girls" to really pull people up and take this seriously. Right, let's do this....

Michael Owen.

Well he could have started out with 'Okay Window lickers' couldn't he ? Seriously, unless Gus is signing players by proxy as he's out of the country apart from LuaLua the majority rumours are works of fiction.

Just read that Harewood is talking to Notts County? I reckon he might be useful not the most skilful but as a battering ram and getting in yer face sort of player he could deliver perhaps .. he certainly likes running at the opposition and has a pretty good shot on him .. dunno about the rest

As for any serious rumours most of this is a couple of weeks away at least

Listen up dudes and dudettes, this is turning out to be the exact concise round up of solid information I was hoping it would be.

if that was the case, then this thread would have been infiltrated by brightonmark already!

Does anyone else remember about 15 years ago when we were reported to be close to signing Les Ferdinand? Just thought I'd mention it.

On a more on-topic note....................... apparently Prince Bauben and Morgaro Gomis rumoured to be on their way from Dundee Utd now look less likely:

Quits Dundee United – Eyes Swansea or Brighton Moves
"I have nothing concrete yet. My agent is speaking to a few people but we will just wait and see what happens".

ABERDEEN FC boss Craig Brown today admitted he is still tracking Senegalese international midfielder Morgaro Gomis.
The Dundee United playmaker, whose contract has expired at Tannadice, has seen a proposed move to Brighton stall.
Brown is searching for an experienced midfielder to bolster his side following the loss of Aberdeen FC skipper Paul Hartley and Derek Young

Keeping on the Scottish theme we were rumoured to be interested in Craig Bryant from Kilmarnock but he seems likely to be heading for Derby County (source; BBC Sport)

Will Buckley
from Watford continues as a live and realistic rumour as the suggestion came from Watford that we had two bids around the half million mark turned down - there is the suggestion that there is a deal to be done somewhere around the £700k mark.

Of the "silly season" rumours now that Michael Owen's signing has been well and truly put to bed, only Kevin Phillips remains but talking to someone at Birmingham City last night the rumour here is that he will remain in the Midlands now that he has been officially released and is lining up a player/coaching appointent. Even if he were to move back down south it doesn't seem likely that Gus would be looking at him in this capacity.

After the disappointment of Owen signing to Man Utd I still hold out hopes of Diego Forlan arriving soon. Hey guys come on we ALWAYS aim for the stars in the off season and end up near the gutter come kick off

It does say on the BBC that ""I know he has a lot of options and several at Championship level"

So one of them could be us, personally I don't think he is a Gus type player, but who knows.
