Smith 4 - Just not cut out for it. Kicked the ball off the pitch twice, lets the ball under his body, sorry but not good enough.

Hoyte 5 - Poor game, didn't seem to be concentrating at times and kept cutting inside needlessly when he should've been marking his man.

Virgo 4 - Just hoofs everything, should've been fighting for his place but looked worse than ever.

Elphick 4 - Really lost any kind of composure he had towards the end of the game, giving the ball away at will and clearing it to the opposition or into the stands when there was no pressure on him.

El Abd 6 - Not a dreadful game by his standards, gave away a needless foul on the edge of our box though.

McLeod 6 - A couple of delightful balls over to Forster, would prefer if he got into more dangerous areas more often, fitness still letting him down a little.

Navarro 4 - Was he on the pitch? Game completely passed him by, not even half the player Dicker is.

Crofts 5 - Worked hard and put himself about but not enough end product, will be disappointed with his performance.

Bennett 6 - Not great by his standards but linked up well a couple of times with Forster. Seems to have caught Cox's disease of being unable to beat the first man with a dead ball.

Forster 6 - Worked hard and you had to feel for him playing alongside a thicket with no spacial awareness whatsoever. Laid into Dickinson a couple of times for being lazy and useless.

Dickinson 2 - That's 1 each for each tap in to an empty net. I don't know if I've seen a worse performance from a player ever. He has the first touch of a drunken elephant, no awareness of his team mates at all, lazy, clumsy, dives and just generally lumbers/staggers around for 90 minutes. Everyone around me was falling about laughing when he scored our third.

SUBS

Dicker 7.5 - THAT is a central midfielder. Composed, classy, NEVER gave the ball away, made things happen, fantastic movement to make space for himself. Has to start every game when fit.

Hart 7 - Worked his nuts off, chased every ball, got a bit too heated at points, also completely laid into Dickinson for being lazy.

Why are people hounding out abuse for Smith, who personally I thought had a solid game today, his distribution and kicking were good and for the first time he seemed to be far more commanding of his area (claiming crosses etc.). Once again he was not backed up by those in front of him, their first goal was horrendous from Hoyte, he gave far to much space and time to Tomlin who was threatening all afternoon and by far their best player, and the finish was sharp and neat that I doubt everyone's messiah FDM would have saved it. Their second was due to Virgo and Hoyte bunching to the ball and leaving a gaping hole in the defence that was there to be exploited and again the finish was decent. If Poyet sorts out the 4 men in front of him I still think Graeme Smith will prove to be a quality keeper, give the guy a break!!!

You make some fair points in respect of the players in front of Smith however, he fell over the first shot and the second, he wasnt even at full stretch. When the commentators on SSN who, lets face it, are impartial, said he was hopeless, that sums it up. One plus was his good second half throw outs. Send him out on loan to get his confidence back, we cant keep losing points.

Both shots went right through him.

we could say that we were without 6 first teamers:

Kuipers, Whing, Tunnicliffe, McNulty, Dicker and Murray

and it proves that many in the squad aren't up to it

Think you will find that was Tony Millard who is not impartial when he has got his rug on,is an Albion fan:O

Smith - 5. Yes he may have been at fault for the first goal and possibly second, but looked confident with crosses. His throwing out was our most creative attacking threat throughout the game. Think we should get behind him rather than try to force him out.
Hoyte - 3. Poor, looked uncomfortable against their winger. Was it him waving through their number 10 for the first goal?
Elphick -3. FFS, someone teach him how to pass the ball. Distribution is appalling.
Virgo -4. Poor defending for their second goal. Both centre backs have got to learn to deal with long balls over the top better than simply hoofing it out for a throw in to the opposition deep in our half.
El-Abd -5. Not bad. At least he tries.
Bennett -7. Got involved, tried hard, and won a few free kicks in dangerous positions.
Crofts -6. Reasonable, solid.
Navarro -4. Don't think he actually did anything. I have some sympathy for a central midfielder when the ball is constantly being kicked miles above his head from one end to the other, how can he get involved?
Mcleod -3. Not good enough.
Forster -5. Off day, missed a couple of good chances, but good effort at least.
Dickinson -4. I don't care if he scored 2 goals, his constant falling over, holding his face, his feet, his knees, any part of body he can think of drives me mad. He has so many good assets - good touch/control, very tall, reasonably mobile and a decent shot, and yet put it all together and he
is pretty useless. Just get on with it and play and he could be quite good.
Hart -5. Didn't notice him much.
Dicker -8. Class, the difference when he came on was huge.

Smith 6 – What can he do without a defence in front of him, really believe he will come good, just need the FDM luv-in to keep off his back.
Hoyte 5 – Leave the play acting for the premiership (just for the record, and to be clear, we are in League 1 (or division 3 in real money) team)
Elphick 7 – Will the real ‘Tommy’ please stand up, you should be starting to dominate the back of defence and make the arm band yours.
Virgo 1 – Probably his best match for the club?
El Abd 6 – One of his better games
Navarro 1 – Another who probably played his best match for the club? What does anybody see in him? Where does he disappear to too?
McLard 4 – subbed, though Virgo or the invisible man (Navarro) should have gone first
Crofts 7 – ok, not good just ok
Bennett 7 – no real chance for him to use his pace
Dickinson 7 – 2 goals well done, now just stay on your feet more
Forster 6 – Not a lot to say

Subs: Hart 7 – desperate to impress, and to use his experiance
Dicker 9 – quality, understandably ‘rested’ on the bench, until it was evident that he was needed on the pitch to help us into the next round.

Smith-4 not good enough, even to deputise

Hoyte-4 seemed to get murdered down the wing every time number 10 got the ball
Virgo-5 very poor distribution needed somebody who can play the ball alongside hime eg. tunnicliffe
Elphick-5 ""
El-abd-6 improving as a left back

Bennett-6 not his best but still the classiest player on the pitch
Crofts-6 good, occaisionly needs to improve on the final ball
Navarro-5 looks an average/clogs up the squad player
Mcleod-6 couple of good balls (i know what you're thinking) but looked uninterested

Forster-6 not at his clinical best, but i'll let him off as he's 36
Dickinson- MOM right place right time for goals, so frustrating with the diving, at least forster gets somewhere with it!

Hart-6 tries hard all the time
Dicker-7 looked like the player we were missing

What is this FDM luv-in. Kuipers is a goalkeeper. Smith isn't. End of story. We don't suddenly find a completely different back four when Kuipers is in goal. I don't often resort to personal abuse, but if you really believe what you have written you are an incredibly stupid person.

absolutely ridiculous ratings. We f***ing won!!!! Against a potential banana skin team. I know most people think we're amazing and should be winning every game 10-0 but can't you just be satisfied with a win for once? I think we played to our strengths in the 2nd half and got the job done.

I can't remember the last time someone scored 2, winning the game for us and then got slaughtered by the fans...

Glen Murray during his "yeah he scores goals but he's always f***ing offside half the time" period.

Reading some of these ratings you would think we actually lost a game. We were always on a hiding to nothing, lose and all hell would have let loose. Just because they are in the conference people seemed to expect a 5 or 6 goal demolition. And as for Dickinson did he not get 2 (including the winner)?

Smith 1/2 just for his throws
The rest 1
apart from Dickinson 0. Sorry but Barndoor Davis would have scored those. The rest of the time as per normal his was utter pants. He doesn't attempt to go for most balls up to him and when one does reach him he's like a jagged piece of rock, f*** knows where the ball will bounce off to. He's got about as much control as an Irish Priest in front of a naked choir boy

Can't be bothered to do full ratings, but I would pick up on the ratings of Dicko and Forster. Most people are praising Dickinson for the 2 goals, but don't forget that Forster, as some have mentioned, basically served both on a plate, far more important than the actual finish. It frustrates me that our only striker who seems to consistently be able to create chaces for others like this is Forster, who also happens to be 36!

I was very close to the first goal in the family stand the shot was soft and smith dived backwards totally missing a shot that was very close to him. To his credit he did make a point blank save in the first half and distributes well. He can't shout though ! so does not command defense - sounds like a stangled cat- needs voice projection lessons.

I am surprised at the slating Dickinson is getting - he was my MOM - the service he was getting was crap - he scored 2 goals - I thought he was always showing for a ball and causing their defense problems.
