Im pretty sure Tau got some very nice ratings and comments after the Newport game. He played really well.
He’s got pedigree and will come good for us.

Im pretty sure Tau got some very nice ratings and comments after the Newport game. He played really well.

I'm sorry but what pedigree? Being bang average in the Belgian league? People on here slag off Trossard no end, don't think he's up to it e.t.c. but remember, he at least stood out in Belgium... Same with Jahanbaksh in the dutch league. If Tau wasn't already our player his performances in Belgium wouldn't have even put him on our radar.

Lots bigging Veltman up, he’s ‘ok’ IMO, however for all his good work today take a look at their goal, why is bissouma having to sprint from CM to RB when Veltman is jogging in no mans land? Then when the cross comes in he’s again in a position of zero impact, not marking anyone and not cutting it out. He’s a DEFENDER first, he’s no Bruno.
All starters 6s expect Bissouma who is an 8. He’s a champions league player and I’m gutted that us fans are unlikely to see him in the flesh at the Amex again in the stripes.
Maupay a 4, an EPL striker doesn’t miss that.
As for slagging Trossard - if Maupay and Gross score, they both should, he has 2 assists within 10 minutes....

I have not rated players today, but I am hopeful that players don't get their feedback on how they did from this forum!!! Feedback of the coach matters, not what a bunch of drunks type into the computer.
I think the frustration is that Tau's first game with us looked very very promising and he has since been going backwards instead of adjusting and going forward... He has because a proper player under Potter... struggle to control the ball and pass it back to your defender!!!! J/K mostly, but a genuine question: Does Potter sap the creativity of players and force them to conform to a strict way of playing?
The sheeps are more interested in talking about how tired his eyes look. Strange.

Walton 6: Not much to do. Good positioning for the free kick allowed him to make a decent save. Not sure whether he should have come out for the cross for the goal. Looked a bit in two minds from the replay,
Veltman 7 MOTM : Very very good - great signing
Webster 6: Solid
Dunk 6: Solid
Burn 5.5: Not solid enough. Gave away too many free kicks, some were soft, but others were from being out of position.
Bissouma 7: What a goal, that's another £5m on the asking price. The rest of the game was a walk in the park for him
Propper 6: Looking better each time I see him. some decent passes and even some attacking runs!
Tau 5: Not a good game for him. Pinging it into his feet, doesn't help. He isn't a target man.
Ally Mac 6: Had a real opportunity to stake a claim for the first 11and fluffed his lines a bit (as did the rest of the team tbf)

Blackpool played well, and we didnt, but got the job done, either minds are on Wednesday already or the players weren't up for it, it didn't look like they were, just a bit vague with the usual lack of incisiveness
Walton : Not a busy afternoon, a decent save from the free kick and seems to have been watching Ryan in Ducking from the shot that was the goal, why don't keepers stand up?

Thought Zeqiri looked ok. Worked very hard and had 2 or 3 goes at goal. Veltman excellent.

Tau and zekiri should not be near our first team. Very embarrassing and exactly why we are firmly in the relegation mix.
Zekiri is young so a loan spell to bottom half championship should be a priority.
Propper glimpses of quick passing also shows why he should be starting.

Lots of people shouting for Moder and Khadra to be given a chance but when GP gives Tau, Mcalli and Zequiri a chance they are binned off in seconds. Do people really think that very young players can come to a new team in a new league in a new country and even for 2 of them a new continent and not need a bit of time. Normally they would have been given a month or 2 training and maybe an u23 match but because of injuries or whatever 2 of them were thown in with very little preperation. FWIW I really liked Mcalli, great corners providing 2 good scoring opportunities and not bad all round play including an assist. Zequiri looks a problem for defenses to track and Tau looked like it was maybe too early.
He has the same number of goals in the PL this season, as Danny Ings, Marcus Rashford, Alexandre Lacazette and Ollie Watkins. More than Raheem Sterling, Sadie Mane or Tammy Abraham.

I'm not interestd in anyone else, it's utterly irrelevant, He's missed 5 times more sitters than he's scored, and half of those were penalties. That's not very good

How would you like us to sign a striker with a better shot accuracy than Vardy, and a better goal conversion rate than Harry Kane...?
A few seasons ago Pascal Gross was rightly lauded after an excellent season. His stats for ground covered were hugely impressive and included some really tough jogs around the pitch to take corners and free kicks.
The things that have frustrated me the most about Muapay this season in general is his lack of movement in the box. It isn't always easy to judge on the TV, but there appears to be too many occasions when he is standing pointing and not making space for himself. He has three penalties in his 7 goals, I really hope that is the end of this, as the misses have been really poor.
Towards the end of the Man City game he found himself on the edge of the area, with their keeper off the line and two defenders closing in on him. He could have tried to lob the keeper, it could have been a wonder goal, a Row Z lump or a corner flag troubler. We will never know he was meekly dispossesed. Good for the stats though.
Same again this week against a tiring Blackpool defence. This time three defenders backing off. It is asking an awful lot of a striker to score from this position, I know. The outcome was another tame surrendering of the ball, good for the stats though.
I thought he started the season well and his link up play in the first couple of games was strong, but he has done nothing since and one assist hardly suggests he is sacrificing himself for the team.
I suspect that the much villified Connolly offers more long term, once he is fully fit, sadly neither of the starters on Saturday look ready to challenge for a starting place. I wonder if Maupay needs to feel a little more pressure to justify his place in the team, some players seem to thrive on this.
