That was rubbish. If you take away there very good goal Blackpool looked so poor and a great opportunity for our forwards to fill there boots.

Walton 6 Nothing to do but worried when he looked like he was shaking when receiving a poor back pass
Veltman 7 Did ok
Webster 7 Nothing to do surprised no forward runs
Dunk 7 Nothing to do
Burn 4 Dont think he would get into any other pro side at left back. Never mind he is tall
Alzate 4 Poor but not his fault. Out of position
Propper 6 Fair but made to look worse by first touch of forwards
Mccallister 6 Fair Thought he just strolled about Never got out of first gear
Bissouma 7 Great goal and another not out of first gear
Tau 3 Played in favourite position but very poor. Whats happened to his running at defenders we saw in his first game
Trossard 6 Agree inconsistent but has more quality then any of our other forwards
Maupay 4 Surely cant go on missing so many.
March 4 So poor in attack. He was up against Div 1 defender. Why didnt he run at full back when one on one instead of stopping.. Looking back feel lucky to have seen his right footed goal. Not seen him use it effectively before or since
Zeqiri 3 Very poor

We won at home - at last.
That's 3 wins out of 4 now.
Unsurprisingly we beat lower league opposition and could have had 6, but the work in progress continues.
We were able to rest a few players for a much more important match on Wednesday and we are in the 5th round of the FA Cup again.
No new injuries.
A relaxing pleasant afternoon in front of the TV, watching my team in a game they never looked like losing, unlike Man City who were on their way out at 80 minutes.
I'm not wasting my time having a chip at the players who played or the missed chances today. We're in a good run now and it would be nice to see a bit more support for Potter and the players as we move towards the nitty gritty of the season. How many more threads about Potter out, Poll for Potter, would you take Smug Eddie, Fat Frank, The Spanish Waiter or Fat Sam instead do we have to put up with?

I thought Veltman was superb today. But others though he was rubbish. It’s really a game of opinions isn’t it.

We all seem to agree that Zeqiri is rubbish though.

Also thought Veltman played well today, put some good crosses in. Likewise Zequiri needs time in the championship and Tau is trying to get up to the pace required

Bissouma upto 70 mins was utter class and MOTM Veltman showed the gap in class and a few other decent performers but our finishing and final ball is a disgrace.

Who is the striking coach because he needs to f ck off and hand back his salary out of shame. How many balls in the box did we misplace when we should have scored plus 16 shots that didnt hit the target.

Never known a season like this for missed chances dawdling in or around the box losing possession or completely ballsing up the final ball.

I hate to say this as it sounds so fecking arrogant but anyone who thought Veltman was anything but good today is totally clueless about football

Tau has been thrown in at the deep end. A new club, country, team, playing style, team mates and minutes at Newport, Man City, a field in Leeds and an FA Cup 4th Round Tie on a cold afternoon in front of the cameras. Did he play well today? No, not particularly. But frankly he probably doesn't know his ar$e from his elbow yet and I find the alacrity with which he is getting disparaging comments and 3's distasteful. Similar to Swiss Andi, a young lad who wouldn't be playing but for injuries. He's finding his feet and deserves a bit of slack.

No one is having a pop at Potter today.
The players put in a shoddy, careless display against poor opposition. It was an opportunity to gain scoring confidence that was squandered. That is the real shame. 21 chances...4 on target. Not acceptable. We are a side who struggle to score in the PL. Cup games against lower opposition should be confidence boosters. This failure to convert chances is ongoing and showing no signs of improving. Our approach play is pretty good, most of the time. The lack of quality in the final third is why we continue to struggle.

Wholeheartedly agree.

Percy in particular has been chucked in to a run of massively different and challenging fixtures... he shone in brief moments vs City and that is what I’m judging him on tbh ... these games are ALWAYS tougher than you think - stats wise (again) we should have won with ease ... Blackpool played with the assuring confidence of a team with nothing to lose and a beyond this a confidence wrought from outplaying WBA last time out ...

It wasn’t great, but it was good enough. Job done, time to focus on a proper full on performance vs Fulham - something I’m sure we will get.

Walton 6 Nothing to do no chance with the goal
Veltman 8 Decent performance and steady eddie.
Webster 7 Nothing to do might have done better from the corner chance he had.
Dunk 7 Nothing to do. Should've done much better from 2 corners 1st half.
Burn 5 Don't want to keep on his case but its hard not to when he players LB. Cover at CB that's it.
Alzate 5.5 Looked short of match practice which of course he is.Scored Lol
Propper 5 Partly at fault for their goal and looked off the pace.
Mccallister 7 Taken off just as he got a grip on the game.
Bissouma 7.5 Great goal played within himself but got things done.
Tau 5 At fault for their goal and needs to work harder. Too early to draw any conclusions as yet but big learning curve ahead.
Trossard 6 Usual mixture of sublime and schoolboy
Maupay 6 Missed some chances but got on the end of more in 30 mins than the rest of the team did in 90.
March 6 Got into good positions time after time but his decision making needs to be better.
Zeqiri 5 Worked hard but finding english football tough. Needs a loan IMO.

This. Got through comfortably, no-one had to bust their balls and no-one got injured. Good day at the office.

I gave Alzate, Tau, Burn, Zeqeri, Maupay and March 3/ 4 marks because thought all very poor nothing personal . Assume a mark of 6 is average consider my marks accurate. Look forward to giving them 7/8 when it is justified

Lancing
Walton 6 - decent save from the free kick, very ordinary distribution

Veltman 6 - wish he’d move the ball quicker
Dunk 6 - poor passing today
Webster 6- would have liked to have seen him bring it out of defence more
Burn 5 - not good enough

Propper 6 - better in the 2nd half when taking up positions on the RHS
Bissouma 7 - Great goal, but should have done better for theirs
Alzate 5 - very rusty, lethargic on the ball
Macallister 6 - so much more effective when playing in the middle as he was 2nd half

Zeqiri 5 - ran around a lot, never looked like scoring
Tau 5 - doesn’t look like he knows what to do with the ball

Maupay 5 - I love him but he can’t keep missing those chances
Trossard 5 - just does so many infuriating things
Gross 5 - missed a great chance to put the game to bed
March 7 - our best player when he came on

Was hoping to see Tau and Zeqiri score their first goals for the club, and for Moder to get some minutes. Pretty terrible win.

Was going to give my ratings but I think you have summed it up perfectly

He’s clearly a talented player and very calm and composed....and this was evident in bundles today.
