"It could be either one country and 12 stadiums, or one stadium in 12 or 13 cities."
am i the only one that sees massive logistical problems associated with the second option?
The cost (and logistics) ...
Group B play in West Europe(UK, France, Belgium, Netherlands)
Hardly losing the plot is it. I think it's a cracking idea. Four groups play in four corners of Europe:
Group A play in Northern Europe (Scandinavia)
Group B play in West Europe(UK, France, Belgium, Netherlands)
Group C play in Southern Europe (Italy, Spain, Portugal)
Group D play in East Europe (Poland, Ukraine, Russia)
Group A vs B Quarters play one in North Europe (Stockholm) and one in West Europe (Wembley)
Group C V D Quarters play one in South Europe (Barcelona) and one in East Europe (Poland)
Semis played in Central Europe - Munich & Prague
Final played anywhere in Europe.
Solves a lot of logistical issues, and would be a real European carnival of football. Quality idea in my opinion
Belgium? Heysel and what else? Their stock of stadia is beyond brutal.
Fun fact: did you know that in the 1984 European championships, Michel Platini (France) scored a whopping 7 (yes, seven) goals?
