When I read this thread yesterday I thought it was a fair effort at an Easy10 style wind up - surely Platini couldn't be getting madder than Blatter.

It was only last night when I saw it on the BBC website that I realised it was based on a genuine Platini story.:facepalm:

I agree, I think this does sound good. But the problem is 'home advantage'. What happens if Sweden are drawn in Group A and get to play all their games at home, while Denmark are off to Russia or Portugal for their matches? What if England reach the QFs and play at Wembley against a team like Greece, who will be thousands of miles from home? These are huge advantages that teams would get for no real reason, sometimes just a few days in advance of the match.

That's the rub of the green. Both Poland & Ukraine had it for their matches this summer, so I don't see that as an issue personally
