for goodness sake! most people get their bellys pierced just for a change of image or to make themselves feel better. the good thing about getting a piercing is that if you get bored of it you can just take it out unlike a tattoo which stays with you for life.

piercings can leave scars though!
and with a tattoo you can have it removed although it looks abit crap afterwards, unless your hairy meaning eventually the hair will cover up the mess!

I heard that Jesus had a thing for clit piercing, I believe it was written in the Gospel of Thomas.
Thank god you're back from retirement Chappers.
I've missed your unique ability to cut through the bullshit with one obscene sentence.

It's not arrogance, it just happens that I'm taking a Masters in Theology. But trying to follow the arguments of someone who has picked up some kind tidbit of an idea from the Sun is difficult. To be honest, I cannot even remember why you thought Thomas' gospel had any relevance to what we were taling about.

*snip*

Oh, yeah, I've just looked back. You said "I heard that The Gospel Of St.Thomas from the Dead Sea Scrolls was written in Aramaic and is described as being the 'closest thing to the spoken word of the historical Jesus'. "

:lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

Yes, and I admitted my errors once pointed out by you. But where do you get the idea that the titbit came from The Sun? Or is that just another pathetic attempt to pigeonhole someone you've never met into a catagory in order to appear superior. It was relevant because we were discussing the languages spoken in the film and I, wrongly, thought the gospel was written in Aramaic. And anyway, if you're doing a Masters in Theology then why can you not 'speak' for other denominations, or are you just doing a Masters in Protestant Theology? You've contradicted yourself so many times in this thread it's unbelievable.

To go back to the original topic you also chose to call my comments stupid and have a sarcastic pop at my girlfriends reasons for her peircing. Easy to act like that on an internet chat but frankly if you spoke to me like that in person I'd f***ing deck you (cue "oh well done, reducing the argument to threats of violence" comment). You may be doing a Masters (I have a degree too pal) but you're a twat and I just can't be arsed to argue anymore with someone like you. Well done for 'winning' another argument in your virtual world you idiot. :lolol:

I'm gonna get an albion tattoo soon. Probably just the outline of the seagull but i want the letters BHA involved somewhere.

Design me one somebody and i'll give a kiss to the person who draws the best one and you could have an influence on my BODY ART.

There's still a depressing lack of pictorial evidence on this thread (I can't trawl the net at work, I get 'websensed' to death) :nono:

The Sun reference was to highlight the quality of your information. I realise it didn't come from the Sun - but it might as well have. You made an idiotic statement in which NONE of the facts were true. NONE! That takes some doing! You then added to it by inventing some kind of conspiracy theory that said the Gospel of Thomas spoke against the Catholic Church - which didn't even exist when Thomas was written! :lolol: Then you expect me to engage in an intellectual discussion based on complete inaccuracies and utter stupidity? :p

And, might I remind you, you then decided to drag it back up in this thread, not me. :clap2:

And no, a degree in Theology doesn't entitle me to speak on behalf of the Catholic Church. :dunce: :shootself Apart from anything else, even in the Catholic Church there is a wide range of views and beliefs. You seem to think that they all think the same thing.

I'd love you to point out where I've contradicted myself. May you be more accurate doing that than in anything else you've said so far!

Absolute bollocks, you just get worse and worse the more you go on. I didn't invent anything, I was referring to a theory I had heard in documentary that the Catholic Church NOW considers the gospel heresy, not when it was written. If you can't see past your own desire to slate everything I say then that's your problem, not mine. I wouldn't engage you in intelectual discussion on anything now because you're so bent on point-scoring that any reasonable argument is impossible. That's why I can't be bothered with your nonsense. I 'dragged' it back up because your tone in the first reply was so condescending that I took offence, which I then retracted, only to be proved right in the first place in my view that you are a rude, arrogant, self-opionated man who thinks he's clever. Surely a degree in Theology should give you enough knowlege to know how other churches view the gospels? I don't, nor have stated, for a minute that I think the Catholic Church is 'all the same thing'. I was referring to the official view of the Catholic Church that comes from The Vatican, as that is who the original documentary was referring to. Are you going for the world record smiley attempt to? FFS.

I don't mean to be blasphemous but JESUS HARRY H CHRIST ON A f***ing BIKE!!!! Look at that state of that! I wouldn't want a bloke who looked like that fixing my dishwasher, let alone allow him access to soft parts of my body armed with a bolt gun. She's no oil painting either, even with strong beer googles i'd still turn and run from that.
By the way, is this the most off-topic a thread has ever gone? I know that many threads go off topic but this one takes the piss. We've gone from "do pierced navals look sexy?" to "discussing" the Dead Sea Scrolls, the gospel of St Thomas (Disciple of the millenium in my eyes) and ancient aramaic. What the f*** is going on eh? Does anyone else give a toss? I opened up this thread expecting, nay, DEMANDING, to see lots of pictures of various tanned lovelies with well toned bodies, pierced or otherwise. Instead I seem to have stumbled upon a GSCE religious studies class. Enough bible bashing, bring on the ladies and the bishop bashing!

Ooh, I don't know about tongue piercing. I know a story about a pierced tongue and a mans member that is very WRONG.

Hear Hear Shelton. Lets get this back on track.
Mods, can't this thread be split so Juan and Phaedrus can continue their religeous debate and bickering on their own ?

Tongue piercing can look very good though.

I was chasing a girl a couple of months back with a piercing through the bit between her mouth and her nose about a centimetre to the left of her face. Very f***ing sexy i reckon.

Do you think they had fanny piercing in biblical times?
