Dark star's beer for March is Rye and Juniper Hop Bock. Imagine asking for that at the ground. Cant wait.

Sounds interesting to be sure... loving the Milk Chocolate Stout at the moment

Hophead has a distinct taste of washing up liquid.

How many times have you drunk washing up liquid then Catty ?

Now if it is the fine aromas we are talking about you Philistine then most definitely there are fragrant hews of lemon and elderflower in the nose.

White wine spritzers the last time we went out wasn`t it Veg ?

I thought it was a Chablis with a slice of Lime and a paper parasol in it, charming

I'm with Attila there, as Hophead is a very easy drinking real ale. Probably a good ale for lager drinks to try.

I usualy go for the darker beers, but hophead is very refreshing.

I would guess that the other DS beers are a bit too specialist for mass market appeal.

Disagree, it's bright beer and the Harveys is in far better condition that 95% of the pubs in Brighton.

I tried Harveys a couple of games ago because I was fed up with the fizzy water and was pleasantly suprised as to how good it was although due to using those horrib;le plastic pint pots, you cant call them glasses, it lacked a head and appearred flat biut tatsed fine.

I am not a great lover of local brews generally as I think they taste too hoppy but if DS is available in the Lower West I will certainly try it although I must say I didnt like the pint of Hophead I tried in The Quadrant.

Harveys isn't supposed to have a head.

Harveys isn't supposed to have a head.

From where do you get that gem. I have sold Harveys and a lot of it in the past, but not for the last 10 years, and when swerved in my pubs it always had a head and this held as the pint went down. This clinging to the side of the glass was always considered the sign of a decent pint. I didnt drink it because I didnt like the taste.

This was without the aid of a sprinkler on the beer engine delivery nozzle.

Erm, from the Harveys training course I went on. Admittedly it will have some head when pumped up from a cellar.

Made two mistakes after the game yesterday. I normally have a pint in the West Stand Lower then meet my sons in the North stand concourse. Yesterday we met in the North Stand and waited ages to get served, 1st mistake wont do that again. They had run out of Harveys so had a pint of Dark Star and I thought that it was awful so 2nd mistake and wont do that again. Much too hoppy for me and also noticed that the fittings to the kegs as opposed to Harveys casks was the same as is used on most keg beers but didnt see a gas supply it was dispensed very similar to how we used to dispense Addlestones Cider in the pubs. Also noticed a young lad pulling off loads of pints ancd then pouring one into another to top up which didnt look that good when in full view of the public. certain things should remain out of the public eye!.
