I this is a dreadful mistake on the part of Dark Star (and Harveys come to that but I dont really care about them); having your beer wheeled all about and then poured by someone who doesnt know anything about the product (how it should look, taste be kept etc). it does the brand a disservice that though dont deserve.

Disagree, it's bright beer and the Harveys is in far better condition that 95% of the pubs in Brighton.

The beer is bright, therefore it can be wheeled about as much as necessary without losing flavour/getting sediment stirred up, and Dark Star have designed the dispensers to suit their product - they definitely know what they are doing...

In my opinion it hasnt worked with the Harveys at the ground, but as I say; Im not really bothered by that. I wouldnt like to see someone have a shit pint of Dark star and think thats how its meant to be and/or thats all their beers are and never had one again.

In my opinion is HAS WORKED BRILLIANTLY with the harveys in the ground.

And now I am looking forward to the DS tomorrow with shivers of excitement.

And all to wash down a fabulous pie from Piglets Pantry:cheers::thumbsup::p

Well if the DS brewery have been sensible & trained their dispenser bods to change a barrel effectively, I can see the Harveys queues rapidly dwindling. Any chance of 1664 being available in a similar way?

Do most here think real ale is an acquired taste that takes a while to get into?

I want to like it, I just don't.

ditto, i've tried various varieties at my local (Stand Up in Lindfield) but it just dont float my boat...

I've must have had nearly 40 pints of Harveys now and havent had a complaint. Not sure your angle has any merit to it.

If that is true then it says more about the pubs in Brighton than it does the quality of the beer at the Amex.

The Harveys I've had has been so hit and miss I've given up with it. The worst pint I had was off one of the mobile units so as Tubby Mondays says bad idea from Dark Star.

Excuse me for voicing my opinion.

I should have known that any criticism of Harveys would be a flogging offence and obviosuly coupling with the ground it becomes a hanging one.

Beer, as football, is about opinions. I have mine you have yours.

I must have just been extremely unlucky that on the occasions that I and those I have been with have sampled Harveys at the ground, we lucked on the only pints in the only shit barrell since it opened.

Enjoy your Harveys and I hope some of you take a walk on the wild side and try a dark star.

Well you've been very lucky then. I had probably 10 or so over the first 3 games and at least 4 of them were crap. One of them made 3 of us feel absolutely rotten for the second half.
