Looking at the comments on the Times online report, Brighton fans say not a red. Ipswich fans say red. Nobody (apart from me) mentioned Delap´s not given 2nd yellow.

Red I'm afraid. But the ref chickened out by giving a yellow thus putting the onus on VAR, who just agreed with the on pitch decision.
Challenge like that on the Albion keeper we would be screaming for a red.
I don't think the ref chickened out. You could see him speaking to VAR whilst making his decision.

Worthing
I voted yellow but seeing the incident again he could be judged to have got away with one there.

Yellow at worst for me, you can see him try to put the anchors on but he was full pelt and impossible to put the brakes on completely.
lol "anchors on", he might briefly try to slow before deciding jumping into Walton is prerferable to any attempt to go round.
it's yellow all day long, not inherently dangerous but pretty deliberate.

Pah! Walton should of had Pedro bouncing off his chest, weak goalkeeping.

Footballers are pussies these days

It's dangerous but completely understandable.

The back pass wasn't great and Pedro had a chance of either getting to it or scoring a ricochet if the keeper panicked and booted it.
Any striker worth his salt is chasing that one down.

Definite yellow ( although I didn't think so at the ground, surprise, surprise)
Red would have been harsh, IMO

He's a very dirty (but also very good) player who could easily have had three red cards this season. People always jump into defend him - "he didn't knew the ball was out of play so thats why he kicked it away when on a yellow", "didn't try to elbow the guy, just a gesture" and I suppose now "didn't mean to collide with the keeper".

I don't believe for a moment he's as innocent as some say. His constant diving and rolling around shows he's a player who'd sell hs grandma to get an advantage. He's basically Richarlison 2.0 on the pitch but we refuse to see it.

Enjoy seeing him play for us as he's our best attacking player but will enjoy even more they day he gets sold because there are moments every game when I'm embarrassed that he's playing for us.

I said on the match thread, it's bizarre that in football that's open to interpretation, yet rugby, which is clearly more physical, would see Pedro sent off.
He makes contact with Walton's head, with his shoulder. That should be a red all day long. I'm amazed with all the concussion rules brought in, they haven't done the same as rugby, with the shoulder to head challenge.
and just like in the mach thread you are wrong, he clearly does not make contact with the keepers head

Reading through the comments, the varying opinions highlight how subjective VAR (as in the human in charge of it) is. One VAR might see it differently to another one and, therefore, it could be anything from a foul, to a straight red. Even watching with the Bobkin Jnrs, there was a slight difference of opinion initially.

There's also the issue that it looks way worse when you look at the slow-mo and the specific stills. But, in reality, Pedro tries to slow down and then (IMO) attempts to second guess what might happen with the ball so jumps up to try and block it, thinking that Walton will hoof it. You have to remember that these things happen in a split second and the human brain can't compute fast enough what might or might not happen, hence he clattered him.

TL;DR: foul and yellow card.

That's bizarre. His shoulder clearly smacks him right in the head.

It's one thing debating whether it's a red or yellow, but denying his shoulder makes contact with his head makes you look foolish.

Pedro was lucky to not get sent off !!!I said at the time that could be red. 20% of brighton fans think red.
If it had been their forward on our keeper reckon 95% of us would have said red.

Totally agree.
I ask any Albion supporter to imagine he was playing for another team.
Last night and the elbow in particular were totally wreckless and out of order but there’s plenty of other examples of a really nasty side to his game.

In real time I thought it was a yellow, it just seemed like JP collided with Walton in the act of going for the ball. However on replay the jump was a secondary movement after he made his initial attempt for the ball, this for me made it a red as the ball was not there to be won when he made that move. I think Pedro was fortunate to stay on.

That said given some of the utter dogsh*t decisions that have gone against us this season I am not complaining at all. I'm liking Pedro's competitive attitude at the moment, the captaincy has suited him well.

Salisbury on VAR, I was pretty certain it would be a red and in fairness I wouldn’t have complained if it had been
