Think they were using “across the board” as an expression to mean “everyone involved in the decision making process”. Not the actual Board of Directors.
Oh yeah, my mistake

Hodgson lying to try and save his job - says that the medical team said Olise couldn't play the first half, but could play the second half. WTF is that? That's not a thing.

Palace were totally outclassed in the first half, and at 3-0 down they were not going to get any points, with or without Olise. Bringing him on was a brain dead decision by a man who's out of his depth. One of his excuses was supposedly that you don't bring someone of Olise's quality to a game and not play him. More BS from a man who used to be able to manage, but is turning into Nathan Jones.
The whole story is strange. If it was a hamstring, as they say it was, the idea of playing 3 days later is preposterous. If it was something else, and the medical team said he was OK to play but not for 90 minutes, why say it was a hamstring?
Possibly it was down to Roy bullying the medical team by saying he has to play because he's better on one leg that any of the others on two. Olise didn't argue because he's already planning his summer exit.

I’m sorry if this offends anyone but we didn’t smash Palace, this wasn’t a legendary performance to kill the disappointment of Luton.

It wasn't a legendary performance, because as you say, Palace were very poor. But we did smash them. The contest (not that there ever was one) was completely over by half time.

Disagree with most here on the Olise thing.

A player being able to play a part of the game, certainly is a thing.

Moder being the most obvious example of a player we've got who the manager has gone on record and said he can only play a certain number of minutes
I've said the same thing, with Estupinan as an example. But the medical team did not say he could only play the second half and not the first.

. But there are countless other recent BHA examples of us managing players minutes while they recover from injury. Fati wasn't fit to start, but he was fit to come on for a few minutes.
We didn't want Fati out there for 45 minutes, he came on for a run with the game over. He didn't have to bust a gut. Olise was asked to play the second half and he had to sprint full speed. Bringing Olise on was a stupid decision.

i really dont understand this oft repeated line of "3 teams worse than them" bollox. Its a league, the whole premise of the league is to be better than other teams. Other than financial doping the only reason man city won so many titles is that 19 other teams were worse than them. The only reasom we are in Europe is that 14 other teams were worse than us.

It doesnt really make sense to use that as a reason they are still in the Prem, its the reason EVERY team is still in the Prem. Thery are in the Prem because they are a lower mid table team, with enough cash to stay there, but not enough vision , planning ability or ambition to go any higher

What a day out ….

The songs, the atmosphere and the way it played out.

I’m sorry if this offends anyone but we didn’t smash Palace, this wasn’t a legendary performance to kill the disappointment of Luton.

We played OK against a very poor Palace side.
We played better than OK in the first half. They hardly touched the ball for 45 minutes except to pick it out of the net 3 times. Admittedly we got sloppy in the second-half.

It really is astonishing, the delusional high opinion their fans hold of themselves.

It's quite unfathomable. Some idiots and a drum and they imagine they're actually ultras.

They're an embarrassment.

There isn't some magical cut off point between injured and fit. We're talking about degrees of risk. Sometimes you'll get away with it sometimes not.

That all said. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
But if it was a hamstring, as they say, it's pretty much impossible to play 3 or 4 days later. It's a multi-week recovery. I had a hamstring "tweak" (not a tear) playing Sunday League football in my mid-twenties and I could still feel the damned thing 6 months later.

I think the point is that you could have a year where all teams are good, and 3 teams are a bit unlucky to go down as the competition is so good. Other times, you could be really shit, but stay up because other clubs have imploded. Liverpool were brilliant a few years back, but finished second because City were even better. Teams worse than that Liverpool side have won the league easily.

Considering their end was half empty going into the 40th minute and the silence from the north was only breached once for Mateta's goal (and barely at that given that there were only about 10 fans left), the fact that they see themselves as "the best fans in the league" really is a laugh.

When the team needed them, they vanished.
Without the plonkers, there is never much noise. I normally watch their games with the volume down because the droning noise gets on my tits. A few games ago, I turned it up because it was okay - turns out that was the game that they were locked out of their cupboard so they they went mute in protest. The non plonkers did not take up the slack at all. Similar to the 5-0 up The Arse when the drum got confiscated.

I think the plonkers were on another silent protest on Saturday. Had there not been the vanishing, there would have been no support or noise anyway.

Well if that was the case, he shouldn't have been on the bench, fair enough.

The point is, that I think it's quite well established fact that players after injury are eased back in with a few sub appearances as the more they play the greater the risk of recurrence. It's never you're injured so you can't play at all, to you're fit you can play the full 90. There are shades within the middle of that where your managing risk by playing someone and sometimes it will work out for you and sometimes it won't

Are you sure? The noses, i'm imagining a problem with the noses.

And no matter how attractive, if they are wearing red and blue stripes at the time I really don't think there's enough Viagra in the world to get me to where I would need to be

Well we don't actually know what advice was given by the medical team, we've got Hodgson's comments which judging by the pressure on his job, may be true or not true.

But whether a player is fit to play for 5 mins or 45 mins, the principle holds. Returning players usually will be fit to play some part of the game, but not the whole match. The medical team can give a recommendation of the maximum number of minutes, but this is mostly guesswork. What they are trying to do is manage and balance the risk on him playing. It's nonsensical to say that if a returning player plays 45 mins he will get injured and if he only plays 20 he definitely won't.

Roy gambled with the best info he had and got unlucky. Which I guess is what happens when things are going against you.

The fallout from #cpfc since Saturday has been a joy to beyond and rivalled only by the tailspin we sent Chelsea in when we served glow up Graham and his merry band of 8 year contract mercenaries their arses on a plate.

Their fans running for the entrances as the reality of the gulf between the clubs played out in front of them and to the soundtrack of a stadium full of Brighton fans taking the piss . Then getting physical with their players at the end, Roy continuing to throw the kids and anyone else he can drag down with him under the bus and now Parish can’t even sack Roy as nobody else wants to take on that shambles.

Love it I f***ing love it
