[Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

Someone with a proven record of developing youngsters from within their own academy plus recruiting some low cost overseas stars has to be their way forward.

And Dyche is the complete opposite of that which is why it is weird he is being linked. He has made a career of buying older PL proven players on the cheap and getting another couple of seasons out of them.

'Nuno Espirito Santo is on the verge of making a swift return to Premier League management with Crystal Palace.

The former Wolves head coach is now in advanced talks with Palace and close to being appointed, less than three weeks after his surprise departure from Molineux.

Palace have considered a number of candidates following the exit of Roy Hodgson at the end of the season, holding talks with Frank Lampard and also monitoring the likes of Burnley's Sean Dyche, Swansea's Steve Cooper and Barnsley's Valerien Ismael.

Nuno is now emerging as their preferred target and it is understood an announcement could be made later this week, with talks now progressing over a deal."

They really are the club that keeps on giving. Anyone else they end up with now will be their second or worse choice. Mickey Mouse.

Cooper to Palace instead?

I was reading yesterday that Dyche is about to sign a new Burnley contract, and I think Lampard's ego will want to take himself higher than Palace.

Its such a shame... some of their fans saying not only have they got Nuno but they have ensured Potter will go to Everton.... They really are a special breed up there.

Indeed.

And given that everyone has known full well for the best part of a year that Roy would be shuffling off into the sunset at the end of the season, I find it baffling that the spivs in the boardroom are now running around with their trousers on fire desperately trying to source a replacement. You'd think some discreet enquiries would have been made months ago to have someone more or less lined up - but no.

So they're left with a whole bunch of players out of contract, leaving them in limbo, with no new manager at the helm to sift through the wreckage to see who he wants to keep on. Absolute shambles.

He's probably simply used Palace as leverage to get the Everton job. Both parties made it well known they were close to a deal, then all of a sudden it stalls because he's "increased his demands". Everton come in at the last minute to gazump it.

Nuno to Palace NEVER looked like a good fit, his stock is still far too high for the likes of them.

Parish seems to have been subjected to a fair amount of this type of behaviour over the years.

Time for Dyche to use any interest from Palace to get the best deal possible from Burnley.
Then there maystill be time for Howe to do the same with whatever job he really wants.

Well I'm sure that must still be the case, as one of our more frequent visitors, seemed to be very confident and happy with the planned successor.
He wouldn't have just made that up, to pretend that Palace are better run than would appear to be the case, now, would he.

But Dougie who posts on here knew who their new man was weeks ago... let me find the quote...

6 weeks ago [emoji38] No wonder his own fans don’t want him on their board - trying to be ‘in the know’ - I will remind you this is a ‘bloke’ in his late 50’s / early 60’s too :ffsparr:

I must admit this season has been turgid. Roy has done brilliantly with the tools at his disposal but the change will come at the end of the season.
Hearing good things about his replacement and his plans for the future. A good time to be a palace fan [emoji2]

Was he talking about Cooper or Dyche ?

Or did he mean Pardew is returning ?

Cooper still favourite then, but I don't think Palace have much of an appetite to pay another club compensation to poach their manager.

Smug Eddie is allergic to the north, he looks like a more realistic fit for them. Him or or Wilder.

But But But.. They have a documentary that highlights the fight to save their club and is entitled where Eagles dare... Surely they have learned from their prior indescretions?

I'm a bit surprised that Chris Wilder has disappeared off the radar.
He's used to working on a limited budget and also shopping in Poundland.
Horses for courses, he would be more suited than Lampard, Howe or Nuno who probably would want a budget of £150m to put together a Premier League side from what they are left with.

The problem with appointing Wilder would be that he wouldn't want Freedman choosing the new signings.
I don't think he would want to compromise his position of influence in team matters to a Director of Football.
That would also probably be the case with Dyche, although he looks like staying at Burnley.

:tantrum::tantrum:

You don't have to be here. You can go play on your own boards if you are getting all upset and precious by the comments here.

Just had a look at this BBS, people are paying £10-£20 a month to be on there, or if [MENTION=6886]Bozza[/MENTION] is reading, it's 10p in the £ so only £1 to £2 a month!

Fourth choice for the palace job - how's that going to taste?

Far be it for me to fuel our deranged wing of Potter acolytes.
But can you imagine the difficulty the Albion would have in replacing GPott?

"All we can offer you is:-

An average squad age of 25.
Most contracted for at least 2 more seasons.
Internationals throughout the first team and bench.
Internationally recognised under 18 and under 23's playing in their top division.
A solid management structure above, who wants you.
The stadium.
The training complex.

Is there anything else we can tempt you with?"

A bottle top free stadia!

Why this shambles of a club didn't have a pre-contract agreement with their preferred choice to announce the day after Woy left is beyond a joke

Dougie has gone very silent. If he had any ITK knowledge of this manager he was talking about Palace signing and how exciting it was going to be, wouldn’t he have been back on here being smug?

I don’t believe he is capable of keeping his powder dry, so I am calling deluded bullshit

Imo they should go for Bilic
