If the mythical new stand was budgeted for in December 2017, at 100 million, what would be the cost of it 3 1/2 years later? House prices have gone through a big price increase , Spurs Stadium budget went up a large amount once building started, so surely the mega stand will be a lot more expensive than the 100 million that is rind fenced?

Just remembered Wembley, as well, that ended up cost about 3 times the original estimate.

Still can't work out why they don't try to buy up the road / houses behind the Arthur Waite Stand and turn that shambles into something decent?

A big sigh of relief, we’re over the 40 point mark and are mathematically safe:clap2:
Things are looking really good and I’m extremely excited about our future, a new direction with a brand of football more pleasing on the eye.
I really thought this would be the season you’d finally finish above us( you still might) but it’s looking like you’ve messed up again.
I was mightily impressed with young eze again yesterday , he looks a star in the making. It could be a case of “ the king is dead, long live the king” . All he needs is a massive thread on here to finally achieve that status :)

Congratulations on staying up, although it hasn't looked in doubt for some time, and I'm sure plenty on here will breathe easier once we are mathematically safe, even though its been unlikely we would drop for a while as well.

Next season will certainly be interesting for your guys. Big changes whether Roy stays or not. He has done a great job in keeping you safe but hasnt done much for the style of play. Its been noticeable that Wilf has stayed on his feet for the majority of games I've seen him play in, and is a much better player for it.

If (when) Roy goes will the club take the plunge and get a manager in to change your style (like G Potter) or will you go for safe and steady.

A complete change of playing style will always be a risk, but due to your reliance on using older established names you are in the unenviable position of having to bed in almost complete new team as well . It could go horribly wrong. Will the Yanks hold their nerve and allow the time required if you are struggling every week . It can take 2 to 3 seasons to rebuild

Eze I agree looks a class above, but is there anyone else to help.

Brighton are I think on the cusp of possibly something special, so close now to being comfortably mid table with a chance of loftier things. Although at times itt can feel a bit Only Fools and horses (Next year Rodney, we will be millionaires!)

Im looking forward to next season, could be an exciting time for both our clubs, but for very different reasons

A massive rebuild for you.. Lets hope it goes wrong... you should have invested some of that 8 seasons in the premier league money in your decrepit stadium instead of paying Beneteke, Zaha and Meyer 130k per week....

If you are proud staying up paying those wages, fair play.... I know which club are in the better shape and which set of fans have the most to be excited by.

Isn't Sean Dyche the favorite?

This has Fat Sam written all over it, bail out of WBA and land a short term basket case in the EPL

What are you on about... I keep hearing that they have a 'state of the art' Academy that we would be jealous of.

I’m not sure I’ve seen any palace fan on here claiming that we have a ‘state of the art’ academy. FFS We have only been a tier one academy for under two years.

Our U18’s ended up being pipped to the title on goal difference, but above you lot.

Our U23’s have reached the play off final, unlike you lot.

I’ve always assumed that the success of EPL academies was ranked on the players that made the transition to first team football, rather than the quality of their training facilities.

If that breaks Bozza’s rules on here, I’ll catchup with you all in a week or so. :)

Totally agree. Off the top of my head the Albion's first team currently have from its youth set up:-

1. Dunk
2. March
3. Bissouma (shortly off to a top 4 side we expect)
4. White (Future England international according to the pundits - but only after he leaves for a more trendy club no doubt)
5. Alzate
6. Connolly

Plus more youngsters around the country on loan than Chelsea.

Save that winning trophies at kids level also counts for sod all. Albion won the youth cup at a level a couple of years ago. Meant then sod all apart from for the kids who will always remember it. The only achievement is :-

1. How many kids make it professional.
2. How many make it to our first team / in the premier league (not always the same thing)
3. How many go on to international football.

Kids trophies mean sod all. Half of Albion's first team is from the academy means literally £Millions. Not sure Palace can claim the same.

Err, it was a Brighton fan bigging up your academy that I quoted?

As to the rest of your post, well it’s just a bit weird. You boast about ‘half of your first team’ being from your academy, when it demonstrably isn’t, its a bit odd, to then claim your “academy means literally £Millions”, and you are not sure palace can claim the same? ???

Remind me the last time you sold a home grown player from your academy for £45m?
