I never said anything derogatory about your parents did i?!

Not exactly, but its wrong to assume this is down to my father- he died years ago. No offence taken.

Yeah but Croydon is a dump, and if your team represents Croydon (which it does really), then they're going to get stick for it.

Palace dont represent croydon! Palace Fottball club is in South Norwood Croydon is the nearest big Town to the ground that is all but i am not getting into that old chestnut again! :shootself

My mother and father both died within 18 months of each other when i was 18 and 20 so i would never say anything derogatory about anyone's parents believe me it was meant as a joke

Technically speaking, my Eagle-oriented friend, Brighton & Hove is a city.

Croydon, however, is a town, no matter how many applications its borough council put in (and get rejected) for city status.

It's just not the same is it? I seem to recall Croydon used to style itself "the Largest Town In Britain".

I mean, I suppose any prize is better than none, but that's a little like winning the World's Tallest Dwarf title isn't it? All very entertaining, but unlikely to get Norris McWhirter out of bed.

What next, "Croydon, Britain's Largest Town Beginning With The LetterC, A Tram System And A Shopping Centre With An Allders In It"?

:p
Whereas Brighton is considered Gay Capital of the UK..if not the World. Damn, you win :lolol::p

Yeah but Palace are Croydon's team really, more than South London's team. I bet if you took a survey there would be a higher percentage of palace fans in croydon then if you did it across South London generally.

As I said, no offence taken, I would have said otherwise. But this place has absolutely nothing to do with him.

More like the crack heads, the white trash and the ugliness of the place.
You havent seen the 10 or so tramps sitting on the Brighton High street sticking needles in their arms then?? Or the shit in the grimy water? And the gay people strutting around the place smoking weed and kissing other men passionately? Hardly welcoming is it?

But then you could say Charlton were Kent's team rather than South London's team same proximity but i am sure they have as many fans in Greenwich, Lee, Thamesmead etc as they have in Dartford etc

Let's be real- Brighton isn't on Croydon's level.

And I personally don't have a problem with the gays- or their weed. In fact, I rather they got high, rather than drinking cider and threatening people, as I experienced in Croydon.

Maybe you're right. I just meant that there were quite a few teams competing for fans in South London, so I always saw Palace as Croydon's team.

I never presumed it did as i said it was a joke because you said you lived near St Johns Wood

I'm not part of the 4 X 4 crew on the high street.... my road joins onto Edgware rd and is more similar to there in terms of ethnic make-up and housing.

No and neither have you, you must have been thinking of South Norwood.
