Read the first dozen pages or so in this thread and you'll find nearly identical takes:

@Farehamseagull proved right too

I'm much more sceptical about what the Ox offers though. Willing to be proved wrong but I just don't see it.

I felt the same when we were linked with Lallana and Welbeck. It astounds me to read how many of our fans think that a player with over 30 caps for England is crap and not worth signing. You don't play for Arsenal, Liverpool and England as many times as Oxlade-Chamberlain if you're not a very very good player. And those questioning his attitude, I have no idea where that's coming from. Seems to have conducted himself pretty professionally over the years with no controversies.

I think he'll be a good addition to the squad as he adds top level experience and tactical versatility, I think it's a very Brighton signing and he'd prove some doubters wrong if he came.

I thought he was awful against us in the League, and he's done nothing in the other Liverpool matches I've watched this season. He's just lost his edge, too comfortable drawing £120K per week benchwarming for Salah/Mane/Firmino/Nunez/Jota/Diaz. Southampton or Palace beckon.

Yes, my thoughts pretty much exactly. I was looking at him and thinking, isn't it interesting to watch a Liverpool player who wouldn't get into a first-choice Brighton XI?

I'd generally trust the club more than my own instincts, though I still think I was right about Paddy McCourt and Chris O'Grady.

Even if he accepted a 75% pay cut this wouldn't look particularly good business to me.

Ox: what no-ones offered me a contract yet? Why not?
Agent: you're injury prone and people just don't think you're very good.
Ox: what can I do?
Agent: work harder and play better?
Ox: No seriously
Agent: well I can make out Brighton have enquired and then other clubs might think you're really rather good and can manage a decent amount of gametime.

i think if he could stay fit and Get a run in the team he be a great box to box midfield. Just needs a run in team like Welbeck and Lallana

When Lallana left Liverpool, there was a general disappointment amongst their fans, despite his injury problems, because he's quality on and off the pitch and he was a key player in the early stages after Kopp arrived.
I don't get the impression many people up there will be that bothered when Oxlade-Chamberlain leaves.

I was massively in favour of Lallana & Welbeck; for me though Oxlade-Chamberlain has deteriorated worse than those two and I’m not convinced he’d be the player we need.

Wasn't Welbeck struggling at Watford before we bought him?

I know the situations were different in that Welbeck played a position we were badly in need of help at.
