Only source is the Mail but would fit that Welbeck/Lallana/Veltman type signing . Wages though ? He’s 29 and 30 in August. Also are we short of winger/forwards ? Even after Trossard exit ?
Given the educated person I've heard you are, I'm surprised you posting an article from the Daily Mail

My only comment is that is he would probably be earning a lot more than we usually pay.

Fits the bill as one of the older, mentor types in the squad like Lallana and Welbeck. Talented, bags of experience at a high level & injury prone.

As long as the wages aren't ridiculous this looks like a nice bit of business to me.

Liverpool fans would happily drive him down. It’s a yes if on a pay as you play deal, otherwise no.
The mythical deals that pretty much don’t exist except very unusual circumstances…

We need a larger squad next season to cope with all the extra European fixtures. The season could also start very early.

Be there or be square!

I was massively in favour of Lallana & Welbeck; for me though Oxlade-Chamberlain has deteriorated worse than those two and I’m not convinced he’d be the player we need.

Christ he is proper shite, once a player like him loses his pace it’s a waste of time. Was good for Arsenal occasionally.
Theo Walcott is a prime example..finished.

Think he would do a decent job for a lower-mid PL team, but don't think he is what we need to compete for Europe.

Same could be said for most of their players, yet I imagine few would say no to Salah as a backup for Solly on the right wing.
Salah had quite a few half-chances chances and was a threat with his running off the ball. The fact that he wasn't more involved in the game was mainly due to a lack of support (he was often isolated). More of a reason to criticise the Ox.

If he's free, why look a gift horse in the mouth.
(The idiom itself probably stems from the practice of determining a horse's age from looking at its teeth. It would be rude to receive a horse for your birthday and immediately examine its mouth in front of the person who gave it to you, as if you were trying to figure out the value of your gift)
His experience alone would be worth the signing on fee

Still in Brighton
People say he is experienced and can help bring on the youngsters. Experienced of what? Sitting on the bench and in the physio room. Barely ever noticed him on a football pitch.
