One player, who is crocked, and out of contract, and you come up with that assumption. Well done.[/QUOTE
Do you think the club would turn down a decent bid for Buckley ? At his best he is a wonderful player but he's not been so very often this season. With ffp clearly biting for us this season pressure is obviously there to get maximum playing time from our best/highest paid players

This is a blow - Orlandi was one of only a very small number of our players getting full marks in the "Back to school" section of the programme. Where can we find a replacement whose favourite food is parmesan risotto? Can anyone report ever having had a risotto NOT made with parmesan? Not counting vegetarian options such as our very own "Twineham Grange", obviously. I'm rattled.

I've had plenty of risotto with manchego cheese.

My friend knows him reasonably well. Even a few months ago, Orlandi was apparently pessimistic about the possibility of staying as he felt the club would be going down the younger (cheaper) route in the summer.

He might think younger = cheaper but I suspect the club thinks "available to play"

Not his fault. He came witb a bad fitness record and we got a great season from him.

It's a shame in that he clearly is a very very skillful player.
But like Buckley keeps proving, it's no good if you can't notch up the games.

Good luck - a decent risotto requires a lot of patience. Peas are great in a risotto. I think Orlandi has Italian parents, so the love of risotto may well spring from there. Twineham Grange doesn't have a great depth of flavour, but it's not too bad. As you say, you would believe it wasn't parmesan. I think this twist in the thread to a more risotto-based discussion is definitely the way forward.....

It certainly does take time to make a good risotto. The key is to keep stirring to break down the starch, have a good hot stock on the go and use good rice. I have to say I make a mean risotto - and I don't mean I only make a little portion.

My wife would argue that Orlandi definitely did meet that particular requirement.
If your wife can take the heat she might want to google image Orlandi's doppelganger from the cycling world:-

I think it was a Naylor tweet that highlighted that Buckley has been out injured for 43 games since he joined. That's nearly a whole season or a 1/3 of his time here if you like.

I'd take the cash if a bid came in.

I've had plenty of risotto with manchego cheese.

How does it compare to Parmesan?

It certainly does take time to make a good risotto. The key is to keep stirring to break down the starch, have a good hot stock on the go and use good rice. I have to say I make a mean risotto - and I don't mean I only make a little portion.

Having said that, I've often been presented with what looks like an inadequate portion, but found myself struggling to finish. Very filling, but immensely tasty. Hope the starch break down hits the whirly heights later.

So...at present it's not confirmed that he's actually gone?

Personally I think we'd miss him, sure he's been out for most of this year (feels like it anyway) but he's shown numerous times that he's one of the most creative players in our team (though March will hopefully take up the mantle long term), something that we sorely lack at the moment. Would be a shame to see our (arguably) weakest area get weaker.

A fit orlandi was a top player but we haven't seen a fit orlandi for a long time and I'm not too gutted if this is true.
We should've kept "Conway" at all costs

My favourite player last season, and I was thoroughly enjoying watching him play in the first half of the first half of the first play off match. Shame that there wasn't the wallop there to help lift the team as Derby got back into it.

Favourite memory that sumptuous flick vs. the Toon in the FA Cup.

Adios Andrea

I agree.
Orlandi and Buckley are players we will remember fondly and miss greatly... ... ... much as we have for most of this season.

Hi, I've got some bloke who says he's from Portsmouth FC on the phone for you.

Not sure how he's got my details, but he says there's a role of Finance Director available at Fratton Park and wants to know if you're interested. Can I pass him your number?

Mind changing the thread title pretty please Edna?

That's a shame. I would have offered him a three month deal to prove his fitness and worth. A TOP player at this level when fit.
