50 in a couple of weeks, right as rain.
Train twice a week at gym and swim at least 3 times a week.
Run rings around kids at work and take the piss out of them whilst I'm doing it.
Always up beat as well.
Since coming here I am fitter, eating better and drinking less.

Brighton factually.....
Forty and onwards

Hang on thats not fair, i turned 40 last July and i thought i was starting my midlife crisis.

How can i now be classified as old' and at the same time have a Midlife hissy fit................

Surley something is a miss with your theory there Johnny Crumpants

Give me 10 more years please before being Old..........

However it is funny that when you are 18-25 everyone over 30 is old and does not know what fun is, but when you get past the i will be dead by then 30 years you wanna extend just how old, old actually is :p

52 in July. Watched the Albion from 66-74 before turning to local non - league.
Still behaving badly on the Burgess Hill away game trips and embarrassing my 24 year old son.
Trying to be more positive but it's not easy.

So.

I'll come clean; I'm 62 in April. Both oldish and a bit gittish at times.

Dave Hollins was the best goalkeeper we had, though I admired Eric Gill - good keeper for an absolute age,and a true legend. Some of the other 50s/60s players mentioned by other older generation Albion fans ,well,it would bring a tear to a glass eye.

Keep it up,oldsters!

I win, I was 65 a couple of weeks ago.

then I most certainly must know you .............I am ex-mile oak

I'm 66yo and remember the Third Division South, proper boots, leather footballs, goalkeepers who only wore gloves when the ball was wet, goalkeepers who wore caps in the sun and tied their whippet to the goal post and catching a charabanc to away games. The old West Stand, no floodlights, kids being passed to the front over the adult's heads and when Frankie Howard was a winger not a comic, Albion always won, normally 8-0, happy days.
and kids were dragged over the wall to watch the game

do I care ..............er NO

I'm 58. Had the pleasure of playing Sunday League footie with Jimmy Collins when he was late 40's-ish. The biggest pi$$taker on the face of the earth.
I worked alongside Jimmy ................he was/is a great tiler

I am 67 and my granddad first took me into the South Stand when I was 3 yars old I am told I can remember Jimmy Langley very clearly and Jackie Mansell reasonably well. Also as a lad watching Worthing with David and Arthur or was it Alf Bloom, Reggie Bowles and Jim Punter playing for them in the Corinthian League.
your name gave away your age

85 in September, and I wouldn't expose myself even if I could find it.
hope I'm still around at your age mate .........you are a credit

Growing old isn't so bad, it's better than the alternative...
tis that mate

this thread had given me to best laugh for ages....proves the old uns are the best

As far as keepers go, Bert McGonigal was always one of the best for me.
He used to scare the pants off me when he'd go diving at player's feet to win the ball. Got to be one of the bravest keepers ever to grace the Albion.

And then there was the GORGEOUS Ben Roberts.

And before you ask, I'm not gay, I'm female!!!!

Started going to the Goldstone with my Dad when I was just a girlie and standing on the old south terrace (before the seats were put in) and just got hooked.

Would you put a photo of your wife or girlfriend (or Husband or boyfriend) on here ?

I'm just intrigued to know. Don't know if I would in truth although I wouldn't say mine is ugly.

Yeah but, seriously, what is there left once you hit 40. You focus on paying off the mortgage, putting your kids through uni or whatever becoming, hopefully, a grandparent and then that is it. Goodnight Vienna.

Which is why gotta keep on partying as much as you can :drink::drink::drink::drink::p

Reading this thread and seeing all the names it's become apparent that nearly all the most erudite, intelligent and balanced posters on NSC are over forty, and the very best are over fifty. I wonder why that is?
