Garry Nelson's teacher

A season's best 23.55 (official) for me. 106th out of nearly 500 runners and the first time I've gone under 24 minutes since the second long injury layoff. All of which is glossing over the fact I got the wooden spoon
Good to see knocky1 and big nuts - see you again at the 10k next week chaps. Thanks very much for the lift Simgull. Also a good chat with age grade champ supremo Garry Nelson's teacher and, I believe I briefly met Left Back at the end. Have to admit I was slightly struggling to speak at that point. An excellently flat course lulled me in to running a quick (for me) 7.25 first mile but by two and a half miles I was dying on my a*** in a mix of sun, sweat blindness and a head wind.
Yes - really good to meet the guys. Sorry that Worthing was so blowy. Old git I might be but I can still make lots of mistakes:
1. Lining up too far back (as pointed out by @knocky)
2. Over-compensating by overtaking too many too soon
3. Taking the first mile too quickly downwind (as pointed out by @knocky as he glided past me)
4. Dying after the turn into the wind
5. Running with a calf strain for the final 300 metres
6. Not noticing Simgull's charge for the line - I'm sure I could have found another yard if I'd realised
Anyway 21:54 and a 75.19% AG (well done to all esp @bignuts for a top 10 placing.)
