I did my first run since Thursday 29th March. I think 10 days of no running is the longest I have done for a few years now, but I had to give my back recovery time. Yesterday I set off with a bit of intrepidation, I took the first couple of miles very slowly and gradually increased my pace. Its the first time I have done a long run fitness test!! I maged 7.2 miles at an average of 11.12, my last mile being at 10.31. Being slightly sensible I really didnt want to push the pace much higher at this stage. I felt the odd twinge but at the end my back was no worse that when I started, so I have declared myself fit to run. Phew. I have now raised £1,783 so have 1,783 reasons to make the start line. I will do a very small slow runs on Tuesday and Thursday and then give it all on the day. The week between Brighton and London I may do a LSR to keep the legs going. Yesterday I started carb loading by having a massive Sunday roast at the Swan in Lewes. It was yummy! Good luck and stay calm everyone, its only 26.2 miles.
