Not far off a PW myself this morning and definitely shouldn't have posted about injury! Planned a five miler with the middle three at steady state. Pulled up totally after three miles with a weird and sharp pain in my achillies. I was told during marathon training to listen to my body and today it was telling me not to continue or I'd break myself. Walked home.
Sensible: as many NSC runners will know, Achilles can be *******s. Tendons take much longer to heal than muscle and so once you've got a problem it's hard to get rid. So best avoid in the first place - which you have (we hope) done.
