Anyone had a Garmin completely die on them? Mine won’t charge at all after I let the battery run down whilst on holiday.

On NSC for over two decades...
No local parkrun for me this weekend as Guilfest has returned to Stoke Park after an absence of ten years.

Fortunately my Garmin seems to have me on a break from long runs this weekend, and had me doing a progression run instead. The easy part was easy enough, but I was about 15/20 seconds per mile off of hitting the required fast pace... that might be down to the Hogstar I was drinking at the festival last night! 😀

Club 800m Race last night. Build up was sketchy with only 10 miles running in June. Rat arsed at Ibiza on the Proms Saturday and drinking myself to recovery through Sunday's Football didn't help.
Set off with a 1:22 400m and then the above and a 20 mile bike ride Sunday hit hard. Managed a regressive 1:28 for the second lap.
Happy with a 2:50 but 3 seconds down on last month's 800 and should be getting sub 2:40.
Incredibly hard distance to get right!

Lewes park run kicks off at Malling field tomorrow. Could prove to be a fast course on flat ground with Harvey’s brewery shop conveniently close providing refreshment.
Are you going? Where's it start? Behind Tesco's?
I'm up for a jog, if I know where it starts.

Has anyone managed to get rid of Achilles tendonitis?

I ran 3 x marathons over the past 18 months and started getting issues during the second training block. I did PT, shockwave therapy, and stuff at home, and it allowed me to continue to train, but still with a lot of pain.

Since the last marathon, I've significantly reduced mileage and went to a podiatrist who diagnosed me with achilles tendonitis on both sides and gave me 2 weeks of meloxicam. That didn't reduce swelling, so she gave me 2 weeks of presidone (steriod), which helped a little. She also sent me for an MRI on the left side as it has quite a large lump. I also did the month of physio 3 times per week in sync with the medication above and have continued exercising at home.

I'm now 4 months post-marathon and not really seeing any improvement. I think I've covered all the angles possible other than maybe getting steroid injections or just not running at all for a longer period of time.

Can’t make it tomorrow. I believe it is behind Tesco’s where you can park for free for 2 hours but not sure of details as only heard about this an hour ago. I’ll try to head down next week if you fancy a jog round.

Next time someone updates the table (@Curious Orange @knocky1 ) please can you add my new PB of 17:38 which I got at a race tonight (well last night now). I think that’s 78.07% (I’m 44)?

Did the Westbury 5k which is part of my local road league (but well over 45 mins away). A 3 lap course round an industrial estate. I know a lot of races promise to be flat and fast, but this one lived up to it’s billing.

Having missed the first couple of months of the year with a torn calf I really wasn’t expecting to be in PB shape today, especially as I’d been coughing all day and nose running. Nothing I’ve done at parkrun this year had suggested it was in the cards, but then very few all out efforts there.

Resurrecting our long ago conversation about how quick would a footballer be a parkrun.
A certain I Calderon was a first timer at Hove Prom this morning - in a highly respectable 20:40!

Edit - looks like his older brother ran 17:06!!!
