No bag drop on the day at the start of the Brighton marathon…..anything you want at the finish has to be bagged and left on the Friday or Saturday when you pick up your number
Anything you bring on the day will presumably have to be carried along, or chucked (no supporters allowed at the start either)
What a load of nonsense…..’covid safety’ being used to justify cost cutting

There's a kind of noble madness about this level of competitiveness. Your bike ride was actually pretty good given an almost complete lack of training and the fact that you weren't really 'going for it'.
Hope you are on the road to recovery..............

I was only 70-80% it was pure cycling rubbish.
It’s you what done it geezer.
That Worthing Parkrun challenge made him erroneously think I’d run that pace on Sunday after the swim and run.
Moving forward tonight whilst watching a film my foot suddenly spasmed and made me scream with red hot pain. Then it felt that everything had moved back into place. I hope so.

I went through the full procedure last year for the full refund. Realised last month I hadn’t received it. Sent email and told Sorry we made an error we’ll process it now….

It’s going to be the best NSC marathon running this September/October. Good luck to you all and glad I’ll be on holiday watching the efforts posted.

Well that's one way of getting your foot mended and cheaper than the physio.

I'm quite happy to take a major share in your victory over the old foe. Sounds like he was beaten before he started.

Did a 5k time trial today. My first in the new shoes: 21.18 (79.48%) which was OK into a stiff breeze on the back half. Got a bit carried away on the 'out' bit and turned at 10.30, paying for it later.

Good luck to all the NSC Runners building up to an Autumn marathon, either in the UK or overseas. I've seen some excellent work being put in on the NSC Strava Group :clap2:

Just be careful navigating the water stations now. We don't want a similar experience to Amdouni in the Olympic Marathon :lolol:

On NSC for over two decades...
While I'm concerned that I don't feel like I have the pace to do the 26 in the time I'm aiming for, I was quite pleased today to complete a 10 mile tempo run at pretty much the pace that was required.

I must be getting there!

I've finally been able to sign up for an actual, in-person race for the first time since the pandemic began. :clap2:

The Toronto Waterfront Marathon isn't happening in October in person but they've managed to persuade the city to let them put on a 10k instead. I managed to snag one of the 5,000 entries.

I'm not sure what the race experience is going to be like. They're doing staggered starts from 6:30am to 11:15am, based on predicted times. I'm guessing I'll be closer to 6:30 and it will be pretty quiet. Still, I'm looking forward to it.

Finally, and after 30 years of competitive running, broke the 80% barrier along Worthing prom: 20.59 at 80.70%. Pretty much perfect conditions and of course the new trainers did their bit too.
Please, Gaffer, update the table.

I’m so envious! You can retire now. Excellent work. You’re also set to beat me head to head on time. Congratulations.

I managed to do Maldon Parkrun this morning where Bob! Has set up the course and is the efficient and popular Race Director. Beautiful course but I started too hard and puffed in at an all out effort 22:18. Felt flat. Good news is the calf is fixed and it was great to see what Bob! and the Maldon runners have achieved.
Well done again GNT. Not sure I can ever meet you again.😁

That’s amazing. As a fellow old crock I’m struggling to stay in the low 70s these days, while all these elderly women at Preston Park breeze past me with age grading in the 80s and 90s

Could you update my HM time please. PB now stands at 1:24:23

Had a challenging 17 miler this morning, I’m now if the belief that sub 3 hours may be slightly too quick for me.

I think 3:05 much more realistic, so will look to try and pace more towards that now.
