I agree that this would be stupid (although like you I expect that some will do it). However, there's a balance to be struck here - I went out for a session yesterday evening with three others. We agreed to keep 2 metres-plus apart throughout, and we did. Had a good session of warm up, intervals, hill sprints and cool down, and I have to say that although most of my runs are now going to be solo, it was good and envigorating to run and chat with others. I don't feel it was irresponsible and it was undoubtedly a lot less risky than the time I spent this morning queueing with the sniffing bog-roll hoarders in Sainsburys.
I will observe social distancing in my life as far as possible (and if I have symptoms, I and the rest of the family will self-isolate as required), but given that nearly all the daily activities which enhance my wellbeing are being ruled out, I intend to continue to get some enjoyment from occasional runs with small groups of similarly-minded responsible adults, while running mainly on my own the rest of the time.
Noticed the same. Gym users maybe switching to the outdoors swelling the usual numbers. Long may it continue.
If there is a total lockdown I will go out running at 2am, dressed in black.

Been self isolating at my allotment this week. Digging the ground without any fear of back pain stopping marathon training. In the event of a lockdown I would try the prom at 2am and if we’re allowed to continue at the allotment the outer path is at least a 350m circumference. Ideal for any session.
I haven't posted one this year yet either........................just as well, as it would be AWFUL anyway
I have an idea. As we are going to have to temporarily retire the PB table how about this. A one mile leaderboard based on your Strava times.
You can run it as part of a longer run or just go flat out.
Just be fair about running down hills!
Would break the monotony and give everyone something to aim for whilst running solo.
I would volunteer to collate the table but my IT skills are incredibly basic.
Good idea.........have to decide that Strava data is 'final' (not sure how we know if anyone has been on a bike ), and maybe set a max elevation change of 10ft or something..............we could also add a 'virtual 5k' column to the table though, if only temporarily ?
That can be arranged. One virtual column for 1 mile run fairly and 1 virtual column for 1m run by any cheating way possible barring rests with the watch turned off. For example a 1 mile run downhill with a 40mph tailwind.

I’m thinking of using the Velodrome. It’s marked out so you’d need to run 442 metres and from there 2 full laps.
It’s flat So would be a good test. I might do this each Saturday. Run there and back so about 4 miles in total.
As the oldest git on the forum, I still know very little. But the one thing I do know is that, having run around that bas*tard course for 26.2 miles, it is not flat. Not only that but if you run the inside line (presumably that is optimum for distance purposes) there is at least one bend when you'll find it hard to keep your balance.
In short, it's a great place to run a slow mile. But don't let me put you off - and if you do have a go, I'll be interested to hear how it went.

Seconded...the camber at the northern end is quite significant (especially 70-odd times ). We need an 'NSC seafront mile' defined (West to East with prevailing winds) - could then set it up as a Strava segment, then there's no admin for anyone as you can simply look at the NSC leaderboard on Strava

*statistically this is very likely anyway - only about 6 people did it slower than me.
Not much I doubt, had a bad last few miles with gut issues. About 3.50 I think (I remember because my coach ran it with me as a recovery run from the 40 miles he'd done the previous day and was aiming to drag me round in 3.45)

I've got no skin in this game, but the outcomes the NSC 'mile challenge' would be interesting if fed through an AG calculator?
5:46 would give me the magical 80%.
Ran a 6:09 mile last Monday with the start of this lurgy(?) I’m still suffering from. Run with no prior speed training even at 5k pace..................but I had a 40mph tailwind, a 3” rest at 1km and the magic Vaporfly Next On my feet.
Unlikely to find 5 secs every 400m without cheating as above.
