Looks like Cambridge Half may well have been short measured. My friend, who I beat by 2 minutes at Brighton clocked 1.44 but Strava shows distance of only 13.04. Of all the other Strava runs he’s checked, only one is 13.2 and most are below the distance

What a beautiful morning - I've had a nice cycle to work via Shoreham Power Station, scuttling along the Basin Road and I've genuinely cancelled a meeting so I can get out at 11 for a nice recovery run along the undercliff and then back along the top from Rottingdean. It's going to turn pretty nasty later on so getting the run in early is the key.

The only negative feedback I have from the race yesterday is that the combination of shoes which are now retired (cheers orange Asics, you've served me far too well for far too long!) and the several deep puddles on the course has resulted in some sores on the outside toes of my left foot which are quite painful. I didn't sleep overly well last night despite going to bed nice and early but my legs feel ok and I didn't struggle to cycle - although admittedly the only hill I had to tackle was at the very end.

My farmer Gile that the endoscopy produced has gone in 3 weeks thanks to painful Apple Cider Vinegar. Cycling is back on!

:lolol: I mean, sorry that it happened and the circumstances - but what a wonderful turn of phrase!

I took in the hour long route from Pier to Rottingdean and back to Sea Life Centre, undercliff first and then into the wind over the undulating hills of the seafront road. The highlight of the run was, without question, was getting absolutely Simgulled by a wave in the narrowest section of the path on the undercliff. It had been clear the whole time as I approached and the moment I was in the dangerzone the entire sea came exploding over the wall and I got absolutely drenched. My nipples were immediately on fire.

Decent efforts all round this weekend. I followed up parkrun with an afternoon (yes, you read that right) run up the Adur and then Beeding hill and back down again yesterday. Bloody hard work it was too –*probably the longest it's taken me to do that 10kish route, but at least I forced myself out, having been a lazy git in the morning. The mojo is definitely coming back though as it was great to be out on the trails – even if I had to walk more than normal!

Toronto
Sounds like most people had a good weekend of running. Some sensible training paces being posted too!

It was a bit of down week for me, so yesterday's long run was only 23k. The sun was out though and there was a quite a lot of hill climbing. The last 10k was part of an official warm-up event for "Spring Run Off" which is Toronto's first real race of the season in April involving an 8k route around a very hilly park. Perfect for me as I need to throw in as many hills as possible in preparation for Boston.

It's sunny again today with temperatures reaching the dizzy heights of 17C. I don't normally run on Mondays but I think I'll make an exception on such a nice day. Especially now the clocks have gone forward and it will still be light after work

Another good weekend by the boys.
BenElton'sBrother jumped up the league with a 5 second 5K PB.
Garry Nelson's teacher continued to improve and push up his SB to 22.13 and a 75.47% Silver position AG. (and a mere second behind me in the table).
Greg Bobkin proved that he hasn't taken over Ninja's old role of staying in bed on a Saturday morning by producing a sound 23:16 5K.
@Curious had a good half 1:28:21 but he has done better so no change.
Ninja Elephant and big nuts had a bromance for 19 odd miles before they tore into themselves for the 20th mile. Great times for both but I'm not adding a column for just 2 people. Plenty of room if Ninja wants to add the column.

Cheers Gaffer. Bobkin Jnr is getting his independence soon so won't be needing me driving him to football training on Saturday mornings, so I'll be back to parkrun regularly. And hopefully dragging that time in the table down to somewhere near the one next to it

Don't worry - it won't be too long until your lad hammers you on a weekly basis; GNT junior now has 3 minutes on me over a 5k. I blame his mother.

Thanks to the Gaffer for the update. This is still early season form and I can foresee some changes over the next few weeks/months as so many of us (you) are on an upward arc of performance.

I don't think I'll ever reach the magic 80%, but I hope to push a bit further into the mid 70s.. To this end, I had by my standards a remarkable and surprising 5k training run yesterday pushing myself to over a 2 and a half minute improvement compared with a month ago. There's no way I could reproduce that sort of improvement in an event, unfortunately; it's really just an illustration of how crap my training has been.

That's good running from Junior. He's too fast to be my pacer now. I'll have to tow well behind Monsieur Jacques instead.

My first fast run out yesterday just needed one more interval to produce a 19:06 5K but I stuck to the programme. Unfortunately we cannot have 3" jog every 4" in a Parkrun and a 20mph tailwind!

If BM isn't cancelled over the next 12 days, I have my research treadmill VO2 Max test at Brighton University Saturday week. Might be interseting: a super fit 25 year old would be >60ml/kg/min and a super fit old git 60 year old >39ml/kg/min.

I really can't see the Brighton Marathon being cancelled, there's no real evidence to suggest that it would be a hotbed of spreading. The show must go on and whatever happens, I'll be running the course on the day. Preferrably without open roads, but I'll be doing it regardless because I'll have spent 9 months training by then!

A nice gentle 4 x 1 mile for me planned at lunch time, something close to 6:30 per mile pace is the intention. My legs feel nice and fresh but that may change by the second or third rep!

Some great long marathon training runs this weekend and Notters slipped in a 5K PB. I'll add my run as I like to start slowly at the back.
If Left Back or The Complete Badger are coming back on board let me know.

I've been playing truant for a while ... not surprised I've been dropped Table of Honour. If you're happy re-admit me I'll try to improve my attendance here!
Best time this year is 22:56 AG 65.33% when I went to Eastbourne PR's 8th birthday, but not been setting the world on fire with any great times so all previous PBs stand.

I've signed up to the Gatwick half in May and am planning to take the training a little more serious than my usual "a couple of long runs in the preceding few week-ends should do it" so I'm hoping by 5K times will see the benefit.

What have i missed ? (in 10 words or less - I have a low attention span!)

If Brighton gets cancelled I'm going to try and get into the phoenix racing event at Walton on Thames on the same day.

Without wanting to create a "covid-19" crossover on this thread I'm a little confused as to what "social distancing" will mean when it arrives. My reading of it is a lot less optimistic (about the race being on). I'm 90% certain I'm wasting my training unless I can get into the phoenix one and that survives (and I don't go down with the lurgy). But, ultimately, if we end up in an Italy like situation then it won't just be marathons cancelled but all parkruns I would think. Ironic as they are normally the first step to losing weight / giving up smoking / dealing with a long term condition.

That's more like it. Welcome back!
