Good news for Cleveland - we're assured a pick in the first round of the Draft! Congratulations to Coach Stefanski, GM Andy 'Talent Picker' Berry, and of course the all-knowing Haslams. Marvellous achievement. To think that only this time last year we reached the play-offs, it is indeed a remarkable turnaround.

Of course we might not have had this glorious achievement if we'd had any one even approaching semi-decent in the QB room. (Both in playing and personal standards). Joe Flacco got us to the play-offs last year, so we obviously had to get rid of him. And it's gratifying to see that the backup Miami QB who took us down yesterday was none other than Tyler Huntley - who we'd let go in the summer. The Browns organisation obviously could see he had a bit of ability and wisely got rid of him in case he threw more touchdowns than interceptions, or at least could muster something better than a 1 to 10 ratio.

f*** me we're shit.

Classic Giants, have thrown away the first pick in the draft, by actually turning up for a game…..

Great win against the Colts, but as the song goes….. “how sh!t must you be, we’re winning a game” (in the Giants case).

The Colts were appalling…..

Watching Aaron Rodgers get taken down for a safety was an absolute joy yesterday. Zero touchdowns against the Bills by Rodgers yesterday, what a delight! My favourite random fan from the tailgate (the front said " Live. Laugh. Love.")

Weird scenario for Detroit tonight...

I think we can rest our starters tonight as the result makes no difference to the final weeks game v Minnesota ( unless that's a tie !)

Also strange Atlanta didn't try for 2 to win the game late on yesterday...Going into overtime against a team that needed a tie or better not the brightest call imo

Feeling relatively content heading into the final gameweek. Good win against the Panthers to set up an 89% probability of making the play-offs. Must win game Vs the Saints and Mike Evans needing 85 yards for his 11th straight season will make it a nervy watch. Cautiously optimistic about our playoff run (if we make it) as the only team to have beaten both the Lions and Eagles this year, as well as wins against playoff teams like the Commanders and Chargers we'll give any team a go.

Have to feel for the Falcons, 5 losses out of the last 7 may have gifted us the Division.

Texas - Arizona State great game.
Texas now stay in the Lone Star State for their Cotton Bowl SF at Arlington, Dallas.

Would love to see the Longhorns make it to the Championship game, but Ohio State have scored 40+ points in both playoff games so far.

Texas - Arizona State great game.
Oh my wasn't that fantastic! For me that's the great thing about American football, I have no allegiance to either team, but I was absolutely hooked. Arizona looked dead and buried and then staged a great comeback and looked like they may have pinched it in OT, only for Texas to get the equalising TD on a 4th down. Then they went on and won in the second OT period.

Anyway, I have a new hero: Cam Skattebo. That pass! I think they overused him a bit as Texas always seemed to have three on him - but sometimes even that wasn't enough.

I've absolutely loved all the college games Sky have shown. They're worth the subscription on their own.

College football is great entertainment. I used to thoroughly enjoy Saturday morning coverage on my trips to the states. It seems to have calmed down a bit but it used to be a bit bonkers.

Ohio State destroyed Oregon. Game was basically over in 1st quarter. o_O Did not see that coming. Not that I like OSU too much but as a Washington Huskies fan absolutely loved to see Oregon getting thrashed.

Also, looks like Saquon Barkley will be rested on Sunday so won't get a chance to go after Eric Dickerson single-season rushing record. He's just 101 yards short and would have a chance to set a record against the Giants who choosed to pay Daniel Jones instead of him too but totally understandable why he shouldn't and won't play. As a HC you have to put team in first place and would be inexcusable if Saquon would get injured in a meaningless game before the playoffs.

Chiefs will also rest Mahomes vs the Broncos. And Stafford won't play either so Jimmy G will start against my Seahawks. Would be great if we would end the season with a win eventhough results last week have eliminated us from the playoff contention. OT loss in first game against the Rams still stinks and even more so that ugly home loss vs the Giants who have then go on a 10-game losing streak.

But at least with a win in Chicago last week we guaranteed another winning season and we also became the first team in NFL history to have a winning record despite losing 6 home games. Since 2012 when we drafted Russell Wilson only had one losing season (7-9 in 2021) so we are a consistently solid team that will have a chance to sneak into playoffs every year but not do anything there. We are still far away from elite teams as we have seen this season against Detroit, Green Bay and Buffalo (especially those last two).

Defense is slowly coming together, still missing some pieces but I believe Mike Macdonald will turn them into a top 5-10 defense within next two years. OTOH as much as I love the Geno "they wrote me off, I ain't write back tho" story it's time to look for a long term answer at QB. His turnovers are just too costly. No idea what we will do but I would be ok giving a season to Sam Howell who is on a cheap rookie contract rather than pay Geno 35-40m and then invest that money into OL (and to re-sign LB Ernest Jones which should be a top priority) and draft a QB. Not sure who will be available when we'll pick mid 1st round though. Probably some questions whether OC Ryan Grubb should stay too but unless we can get a proven NFL OC who would be a clear upgrade I'd give him another season. Not a fan of making coaching changes for the sake of making changes. Sometimes you just need to have patience and I'm sure he has learned a lot this season too as a rookie NFL OC. But either way I think it will be an interesting offseason in Seattle.

@bhafc99 What do you think we should do?

What a huge letdown for the Ducks, I gave up at 34-0. Just an utterly wretched first half capitulation. Congrats to Ohio State that was very impressive and Will Howard finally looked like a decent QB.

A real shame for Oregon to just lay an egg and give their critics some ammunition. Still a successful season but this defeat casts a long shadow over it. The defense just did not turn up at the start and the offence was clueless. I wonder if the long gap between games had an impact on their intensity (obviously ASU didn't have the same problem though).

Still I think things get very interesting now in the CFB Playoffs, still cannot call a winner with any conviction.

I went to my first college football game in November. Drove down to Corvallis in Oregon on the Friday, came back the Sunday, 400 miles each way. We went to a Beavers game. My friend married a guy from Corvallis and they flew in from New York for thanksgiving and gave us the full experience, tailgating with his family and friends. Great fun, and a very unique American thing.

We are meant to suffer ….
Thing is - we suffer more than most! After our 0-16 season in 2017 (following on from our 1-15 in 2016) Cleveland has had TWO winning seasons, the best of which was 11-5 in 2020. The great thing about the NFL is because of mechanisms like the Draft and the Cap no one team ever dominates for long and everybody can expect at least one season in the sun (like Detroit now). We've apparently gone from shit to shit with only that 11-5 season to show for it. And then we compounded it by signing Watson, thus, rightly, losing any sympathy anyone might have had for us.

Anyway, sorry, I've banged on about this before. :(

Though obviously Dickerson did it in a game less, so would have been hollow for me.

No doubt we miss Saquon, and the decision to offer Jones the money was inexplicable.
