Doug Pederson gone from the Jags as expected. Assuming Vrabel goes to the Pats then Lions OC Ben Johnson seems to be the leading candidate if he wants it.

Stefanski survives at Cleveland, and Ken Dorsey (offensive co-ordinator) and Andy Dickerson (offensive line coach) have been made the scapegoats. I think both are 'one and done' firings.

So we throw the dice again ...

My god how awful was Darnold last night? Our defence held it to 10 points in the first half and he had plenty of chances for completions, I think any chance of him being franchise tagged evaporated after last night unless he turns it completely round in the playoffs. He's certainly been bailed out by our receivers being way above average but the passing was just unacceptable. Don't get me started on Reichard's kicking (Vikings and kickers hey!)

But fair play to the Lions. Got everything spot on and look exceptionally dangerous. That number 1 seed is massive.
Good 1st and goal stands by Detroit, but poor execution or poor play calling?

Giants keep Daboll and Schoen for another year but the owners ā€˜patience is wearing thinā€™.

Would have liked Vrabelā€¦ā€¦. Stefanski could happen next year @Brovion
Could happen. Reading the Cleveland reports/blogs etc the view seems to be that Dorsey was brought in to make the offense more tailored to Watson. After all Cleveland reached the play-offs last year so it can't have been all bad. Apparently though they scrapped it all and completely redesigned the offense, doubling down on Watson. Then of course he was injured, so they're going to redesign it all again for next year when A N Other will be QB. The talk is of a rookie in the draft coupled with Kirk Cousins!

The obnoxious sex pest will still be on the roster in 2025, and maybe even 2026, but even the thick-as-pigshit Cleveland organisation now realise they can't build a team around him. But it's definitely Stefanski's last chance.

After a promising start the Bears losing streak was an incredible, yet inevitable failure. So entirely typical that we ended it with a winning field goal on the last play of the regular season. At the Packers. In. Your. Face. Statbro (even though you're in the wildcards).

A ridiculous game in which we took the lead with a 97 yard 'fake catcher' punt return TD, threw the stupidest pick of the season and made one of the most brutal sacks I've ever seen.

Glad it's over, though my interest has been mostly a passing one without game pass.
I supose the Bears had to beat the Packers sometime (even if it was our secod team;))

Eagles away will be tough - but I fancy us to win.

See, the Bears fan in me wants you to lose and the Brighton fan always wants to see a defeat for "The Eagles" :lolol:

So the Jags have requested to interview;
Kellen Moore (Eagles OC)
Todd Monken (Ravens OC)
Joe Brady (Bills OC)
Liam Coen (Bucs OC)
Ben Johnson (Lions OC)
Aaron Glenn (Lions DC)
Patrick Graham (Raiders DC)
Robert Saleh
Lot of OCs on there so no doubting which side of the ball we're looking at.

Vrabel apparently being interviewed for the Bears job but also on the radar of Patriots and Jets.

If you haven't received your interview request to speak with the New York Jets yet, it's probably in the mail. So far, the Jets have interviewed Mike Vrabel and Ron Rivera for their head coach opening, but they reportedly have requested/have interest in Joe Brady, Vance Joseph, Bobby Slowik, Aaron Glenn, Brian Flores, Brian Griese, Rex Ryan, Arthur Smith, Josh McCown and Matt Nagy.

lol

Hope Rex will return to the Jets.

also, in Seahawks news OC Ryan Grubb fired. Can't say I'm surprised though I'd give him another season. Interested to see what direction we'll be going now.

I had some Brighton fan at a game recently calling me a palace fan and threatening me as I had an eagles woolly hat on

Maybe there are more pig shit thick Brighton fans who hold this view after all.

Palace bast***šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‰

Seriously, mine is a Giants thing and the fact that they tanked deliberately so the Giants didnā€™t make the playoffs, and then of course thereā€™s Saquonā€¦ā€¦. But that is our own fault.

Heā€™s just playing in a much better team (for the moment).

Sorry to hear that Dave. Some people really are thick.

On a similar note - I really enjoy seeing a lot of fans wearing different NFL team hats at the Amex (Although Iā€™ve yet to see a fellow Bucs one) - The hats certainly are a lot warmer than anything our club shop sells.

One in our lounge (1901), but when we asked, he said he just liked the hatā€¦.

We have Giants ones, they are really warmā€¦.

I cannot get my head around the fact Shad Khan has not fired Trent Baalke. What an utter turd of an owner.

Utterly bewildering, given it's quite clear him still being there will put off a lot of good candidates considering you.

It's quite amusing that of the three sporting empires the Khan family are financially involved in (Jags, Fulham, All Elite Wrestling) the one that they a re probably most invested in financially and emotionally (as a joint enterprise, given AEW is Tony's baby) is the one that they consistently mismanage.

Very Raiders for us to allow Antonio Pierce to hold that press conference yesterday, talk about plans for next season and give the impression he's staying, and then a day later, after other teams have got the ball rolling on firings/putting the feelers out for interviews, we fire him. Even with Brady on board as part of the braintrust, Mark Davis and the team around him's ability to drag these things out is unparalleled. Same reason we were short on options for OC candidates last year after Kingsbury turned us down and we opted for the obvious future firing that was Luke Getsy.

I'm in two minds about this decision. All the love for AP for the vibes he brought to the locker room as an interim coach in 23/24 after the mess that was McDaniels, but I've no issue with the decision. He was always going to be a raw, unproven HC who would learn as he went on, but he didn't seem to show the growth you want to see from the HC on the sidelines, even with veterans coaches like Marvin Lewis advising him on the staff (thought the rumour mill suggested Lewis and others of his ilk in the building were coasting along and just picking up a paycheque, which says a lot). All of that coupled with the OC coaching hire and going with Minshew as the starter has led to this decision. Have said in the last few weeks that while we were beating bad teams recently, AOC while not amazing, would still have got us a few more wins than Minshew.

As for who we go for now, not a clue outside of Ben Johnson being the dream, but I do feel he'll be wanting to work somewhere like Chciago with a young QB he can truly help grow, whereas our situation at #6 in the draft and likely out of the conversation for taking Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders is more complicated. The positive I'm seeing is that there is a great pool of coaching candidates, and despite our record there are a lot of promising pieces to like on our roster on both sides of the ball - D-Line in particular if we can get a full season of Crosby & Wilkins together and resign Malcolm Koonce. Telesco had a decent first draft hitting on the stud that is Bowers and Jackson Powers-Johnson/DJ Glaze for the O-line.

Either way, another off-season of change and uncertainty awaits. Thanks for the memories AP, that demolition of the Chargers and the Xmas day win at KC will always be fond memories!
