I am concentrating my NFL attention on the Commanders potentially trading for Myles Garrett, get it done Peters, get it done!

When the trade request was first announced, I mentioned Washington as a landing spot for him to a mate (who is hoping his Lions will be in the mix). Would make a really solid front line ELITE, over there in DC.

Whether Berry & Haslam are going to bow to his trade request though, is another matter....

Would hate to see him go, but the guy deserves to be with a title contender. Another career that Cleveland has wasted completely.

Josh Allen 2025 MVP.

Deserved.
Indeed.

Anyway, although no one's interested I'm going to tell my Superbowl joke:

So this bloke manages to get a ticket to the Superbowl. It is one of THE best seats in the house, perfectly placed, right on the halfway line. He's not supporting either team, he's just pleased to be attending one of the world's great sporting events. He arrives early to soak up the atmosphere, and slowly all the seats around him begin to fill up ...... except one. Directly in front of him is a quite elderly guy, and the seat next to him is empty. The elderly guy puts his coat on it, and the first bloke just thinks that the person's been held up for whatever reason, but the game kicks off and the seat is still empty.

Anyway, it gets to half-time and the seat has stayed empty. Intrigued he taps the elderly guy on the shoulder.
"Excuse me," he says, "Has your buddy or something been held up? I noticed that no one's been sitting there."
The elderly guy sighs and gives a sad smile.
"That seat was for my wife" he began. "We always wanted to attend the Superbowl and sit in the best seats, and this year I managed to arrange it."
"Oh" said the first bloke, "So, er, why isn't she here?"
The elderly guy sighed again.
"Sadly she passed away recently. Fifty years we'd been married. We did everything together, we were never apart, she was my 'one and only' and I miss her like crazy."
"Oh I'm so sorry!" said the first bloke, "Please accept my condolences. But, um, didn't one of your other friends or relatives want to come?"
"Oh probably," replied the old guy, "but they're all at the funeral".

Steelers need a complete rebuild, we have far too much money tied up in defense. Since player salaries became fully public in 2011. No team has won a SB whilst spending more on defense than offense. Steelers spent only 35% of their total cap on offense in the 2024 season.

In comparison the Eagles spent 58% of their total cap on offense for the 2024 season, whilst still allowing less yards on average, and less TD's throughout the season.

2023 Chiefs - 58%
2022 Chiefs - 57%
2021 Rams - 54%
2020 Buccaneers - 58%
2019 Chiefs - 60%
2018 Patriots - 54%
2017 Eagles - 53%
2016 Patriots - 60%
2015 Broncos - 57%
2014 Patriots - 52%
2013 Seahawks - 57%
