I've not read the whole thread, but I think basically people just need to chill out and not get offended/angered/incandescent with rage because someone has written something they don't like or agree with. We all have opinions, lots of the time there is no 'wrong' or 'right' and, let's face it, who cares anyway?

I'm all for conversation and a bit of debating, but when it all gets personal, mental health suffers and people are threatening to leave because if it, the people involved (in both sides) need to take a step back and look at how it is affecting them - and others.

Clearly it will never happen - I think some posters need this place (and the anonymity) to get pent up frustrations out of their system. At least when the football season is up and running we can all get back to arguing over the more important topics, such as who is the SHITEHOUSE member of the squad

I have to say that generally I think it is excellent hence 20+ years on here.

I may have mentioned it before but I find dishonest posters frustrating, particularly repeat offenders. The NSC patron thing is good because it means that the poster has been honest enough to give bank details to Bozza, but doesn't offer the same level of provenance to those that cannot donate.

I wonder if as part of the 'sign up' process the new account should have to reply to a mod without using a VPN in order to prove they're not an already banned user. A status of 'NSC patron', 'NSC user' or whatever could be assigned. Only new accounts would have to do it, but any existing posters could message a mod without a VPN to get that status if they wanted.

Who knows, it may make the mods job a little easier

Other than that nothing really. It get's a bit silly in the off season but that's now an NSC institution.

On the few occasions when I dip into other teams boards I am struck by how much better nsc is, in structure and often content as well.
Whoever thinks that nsc is ' county standard ' should point us to any other board which he considers ' premier league '.

Being able to ignore threads was the game-changer .

Perhaps a subforum for player arriving rumours, or threads moved there when they hold little merit. NSC has been swamped this summer by people starting new threads at the drop of an internet clickbait.

You’re doing a top job chap, in the grand scheme of things, no one could/should possibly complain about a thing.

We are all graced with an amazing environment to discuss all manner of topics with like minded supporters with a one true shared love and passion for our club, regardless of our various alternate views and style of posting haha

Personally I embrace diversity to the max and embrace everyone as best I can (with very few, unacceptable exceptions) and have never blocked anyone, and hope I never will, haha, I am a HUGE advocate for free speech above almost all else, almost to the point of being extremely stubborn about it. If I feel the need to block anyone, I will consider it a huge weakness on my part! I believe true strength of character comes from our ability not to let anyone else affect your sense of self respect/belief. I personally, each to their own, won’t take the easy option and block someone out in order to cope with the their views or manner of communication. My own self belief and strength of character will endure haha

BUT, the adverts! OMG!

I entirely understand the necessity, I support your use of adverts to cover costs, hell, make a little profit for all I care, you deserve it, but the NUMBER ONE thing that drives me away, time and time again is the page flicking up and down as adverts ping in and out and push the page out as they resize etc. it’s INFURIATING! I have even thrown my phone down on the sofa on occasion haha I’m sorry! When I have to search back to the post I was half way through as the page shot either up or down, over and over again, almost every couple of minutes drives me round the bend and has to be counterproductive? If anyone else has the same experience as me, surely the adverts will get more clicks/views if we stay on longer, as opposed to being driven to porn hub or something? Much love.

Edit: it’s already happened five times since my post, so I’m going back to work haha, surely, it must just be me doing something wrong, or there’d be riots, no?

I find little or nothing wrong with the site at all.

I manage not to open threads i have no interest in, never had to "ignore thread" and the only person whose posts I don't read are from our resident antisemite.

Some of those I don't agree with politically are a great source of information and / or hilarity on other threads.

I think the mods do a good and fair job and I'm really surprised that a few users give one mod so much abuse and get away with it.

It's a great site with many interesting people. Not sure how it could be improved tbh.
