NSC scripting errors

Is this just me - for the last day or so running NSC I keep getting a scripting error

"A script on this page is causing your web browser to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer might become unresponsive"

Only happens on NSC - I use many other pages ok. Using ie 8 (no choice on that, it's a work PC).

Why is it that pressing yes or no makes no difference you cannot get rid of it, it is now coming up between each post i read

Been getting the message for a few days now. IE9. Very slow on main page.

Worthing
I don't bother with IE 8 with NSC.

I'm finding Chrome has no issues.

Just noticed something like "waiting for rifhub.com" in the bottom corner when the page paused loading. It disappeared before I could note exactly. Might have been refhub or rufhib. A couple of the threads become momentarily unresponsive when loading now (they weren't earlier, just the main board). (on firefox 11.0, windows 7).

No. It was this which I installed only yesterday and I need further feedback.

Bizarrely I've not seen a single auto-link yet - the fact you are means something is working somewhere...

i am getting these powerlink.com links too, they are very annoying!

Yes, those are the adverts we are trialling.

Ha ha should have read this thread before i have been trying to get rid of them thinking they were a virus on my computer.

Whilst browsing the site with my iPhone or iPad, I get no error messages but the pages seem to be very slow to load, a 5 second delay before you can click on anything ?

Still getting lag. This time firefox 11.0 became unresponsive while 'transferring data from cdn.flashtalking.com'

I know I've joked about this before, but one of the changes I am going to make over the Summer will be to block NSC from people who block ads on NSC. The site costs a lot to run and it has to be paid for somehow. Those who block ads contribute nothing to the upkeep of the site, so I'm happy to give them no content.

There is an obvious balance to be struck however and I will never place adverts that are overly intrusive nor those that affect site performance unduly. This new placement was offered for a year but I struck a deal to do a trial for a month prior to making any decision. If the ads are too intrusive or do affect the performance of the site then they won't be here for long.

Surely you have been making money up to now without all these aggressive pop-ups and flashy ads?
Can you honestly say that NSC ran at a loss, to date?

Getting a bit annoying now. Even scrolling up and down NSC page one causes about a dozen pages of ads type shit to kick in and slow things down to the point where you can read the individual culprits struggling to load. Using Firefox. Re re wind?
