Cup half full kind of guy!I don't really think anyone played badly today. No one played well, no one played good. It's a win we are through to the next round that's the important thing. Fantastic turn out today, great result, let's build on this now.
I did delve into there forum The Pinkun i think, anyway yesterdays game like us in cups saw a whole bunch of non regulars in different seats for the cup games and many who took kids to their first game to see a PL sideIt was interesting how little noise was made by their main stand even though....
- two tiers
- roof
- drum
- Close to the away fans
- Singing the same song
Even when they got going after about 20 minutes and their players were giving them something to cheer, it wasn't that loud.
Corrected for you!FA Cup half full kind of guy!
Norovirus too (sickness & diarrhoea).
,That was a nice day out. Chatted to a few Norwich fans in the lengthy queues for chips around the ground. They'd been hoping we would play a "B" team and were a little downcast when they saw it wasn't that. Still, Norwich were ok for the first 35 minutes or so. But not any good after that.
For us it was a lovely afternoon in the end. Minteh good value, Enciso still running into players rather than passing - but at least getting his goal - the magnificence that is Georginio was as wonderful as ever and then March came on and scored. Pity we can't play them every week, but then we'd be in the Championship.
Had a similar experience at Villa where 4 boys (16-20) spent all the time just trying to goad the opposition fans and didn't watch any of the game , then started on some youngsters in a posh box behind us.It was a good day out and we played well. For me although I enjoy banter with opposing fans as much as anyone, it was marred by a small group of our fans persistently chanted and unpleasant one about "sisters and mothers" . It felt just like hearing homophobic chants from away fans at the Amex. I asked them to shut up several times but being 75 I didn't fancy taking them on any more. They also spent most of the match looking at the home fans and not watching the match.
A few people have picked up on this but if you read the thread, he gets challenged by other posters and then says:
We must have been in a similar area. The Norwich Family actually makes me smile, harmless bantz. It was a good day out and we played well. This. Nothing wrong with that song. Not sure about their “witty” reply “you f*** your seagulls”. It only really comes out for Norwich, sometimes Palace, maybe on Thursday? We must have been in a similar area. The Norwich Family actually makes me smile, harmless bantz.
The obsession with Duffy was cringeworthy though.
I think mitomas been quiet all season. A threat definitely but not certain to be sold at end of season.I thought Mitoma had a quiet game by his standards. I was hoping to see him roasting some Championship defenders but he never quite got going.
Yeah, I hate that song too. I was sitting, well, forced to stand, in front of a bunch of kids about 18 who were singing this and various other ‘hilarious’ ditties. When Solly scored, one of them shoved another into my back, sending me toppling over the seat in front. They were so self-absorbed that they didn’t even notice, or didn’t care. It embarrasses me that I probably used to behave like that at one point in my life.It was a good day out and we played well. I also thought the “you’ve seen The Albion now f*ck off home” was pretty pathetic. It came up on here a while back and I think it was universally agreed that it’s the sort of crap you expect to get from United and others - but not something we should be singing … especially not to a Championship club. Pretty poor I thought. It was a good day out and we played well. Thought it was sometimes hard to get the atmosphere going. Then watched the highlights back and we sound triffic! To be fair, what with lots of kids in attendance and a lot of people driving etc, the distance involved etc, the twat factor was very low on Saturday. It was all very enjoyable and funny, IMHO.
