North & South Stand Expansion

Maybe it will be a curled and sweeping down from the west upper tier,added to the South,in the western part of the stand,and a switching of home ends,from north to south?

It seems odd,and there is a reason for it i'm sure.

I can't imagine the North stand folk would be too happy losing two North stands in their lifetime.

Have we actually put in for planning permission now to expand?

The revised plans that went in about 3 years ago and were approved, openly included the structures for the 30,500.

It's now just a case of proving safety & transport would work.

Perhaps the cladding and offices behind the North will be removed and the Seats pushed right back up into the void,creating a 5000 or 7000 with corners filled in New NORTH-Mr Martin Perry to have a new office elsewhere in the ground.....lets get started

Could probably add a few more rows to the North stand (and South) if they could somehow tilt it to give a steeper gradient.

It's ridiculous to suggest we could expand the ground with the transport situation as it is. Another 8/10,000 people would push the public transport past breaking point. Hope the planning permission isn't granted until the major problems at Falmer are sorted out.

Would have to agree with that takes far to long by train, would be so much easier if they just got a few extra trains on the line. How hard can it be?

Think it was stated by the club that all problems can only be expected to be ironed out over the course of the season,i firmly believe although it cannot be yet understood that the club,have factored in the eventuality of potential 30,000 gates when they carried out their transport analysis.

No one has yet been able to explain for definite why the central back wall panel in the south stand is unfinished, and also why the back wall panel in the south west corner is also unfinished. Some have suggested that boxes may go up there, but I'd really like to know the DEFINITIVE answer.

Without trying to bombard us with too much structural engineering stuff the guide explained how that concrete at the back is supporting a huge amount of the weight of the roof. In addition they have to be careful that if they add anything it must not compromise the special sound proof cladding which is in all the walls. Not only is the Amex designed to be acoustically efficient for those inside but also for anyone outside. Whilst the crowd can be going berserk inside if you stand outside there are very low levels of sound leakage.

I'm sure they have 'said' that. Sadly any faith that they actually care about the average Joe fans, or that it is impossible to employ anyone in a position of authority who isn't a complete tool. is quickly ebbing away.

This was the reason behind the sound proofing agree,as it had to be this way,due to the sensitive village beyond,as for the Thrust blocks that support the main West?East roofs,agree,we cannot effect them,however,the South differs from the North in as much as it has gaping holes,why? is the question,it's a little puzzler,fun as a side issue,as we all enjoy the moment.

No single stand is Geographically correct,the setting sun was a factor in stadium orientation as i understand matters.

Well they ****ed up that last bit then because about 2 hours after the Doncaster game I was just about on Village Way and could still hear everyone on the North Stand concourse singing. Now obviously they were fairly loud but if I can hear around 2,000 people (or less) from underneath the stand whilst several hundred yards away, it obviously doesn't succeed in that respect.

And the second floor of the North Stand is currently empty but has an extremely low roof inside, and a massive concrete support wall running through the middle of it, so probably won't be able to be used to house seating.
