It's strange isn't it?

90% of football fans: 'it's so much better without VAR'

Also 90% of football fans: 'it's not going away and we have to accept we're stuck with it'

There is no actual cost involved in getting rid. Yes money has been spent setting it up (albeit inconsequential in the bigger scheme of things). But those are sunk costs, and irrrelevant in any decisions going forward.

So what's going on?
I’m my experience it’s 90% of proper (non plastic, go to games) fans. But possibly a minority of ‘pay for sports subscriptions’ fans and therein lies the problem

No VAR, you get the TV channels playing back endlessly why it should / shouldn’t have been a goal.
VAR and you get TV channels constantly replaying in the hope of finding a mistake.
Perhaps the best option is no VAR and no TV…..
ITV were pretty decent last night - they didn't really bother with replays much at all. Quite refreshing.

Dear BBC

Can you please STOP inviting Pierce to commentate on our games.

He doesn’t like us…we get it. His going on and f***ing on and f***ing on about no VAR and the goal would have been disallowed for handball….which actually looking at it again, it looked like his shoulder….is NOT a partisan commentating.

Thanks
JP has been complimentary about us sometimes but not others. Not overly keen on his commentary though!
