We don’t know why the banks have shuttered his accounts or why others are refusing him new ones.

I believe that banks have a legal obligation to provide a basic bank account to anyone that passes their legal criteria.

So I don’t know what that says about someone’s activities if they don’t pass that screening.

It’s all speculation but I don’t believe banks turn away millionaires without a reason.

On a more personal note, I don’t really care how badly Nigel Farage is treated. By anyone.

It probably depends who the source is, doesn’t it? If it’s MI6 (for example) then they’d certainly pay attention.

It was me. I tipped them off that he played a key role in the systematic and deliberate destruction of the U.K. economy with the intention of benefitting racists, millionaires, at-risk politicians, tax dodgers, and other assorted scallywags who have a fast and loose relationship with morals and a morally ambiguous relationship with their and our financial arrangements.

I’m 70 odd years old, had the same bank account for 54 years and have never heard of anyone being refused a bank account particularly one they already held.

HMRC, MI5 and the FBI all have the power to investigate bank accounts. Certain cohorts of Farage have been arrested recently such as Steve Bannon, and Trump. They don’t want to be indicted for anything more than they are already, so would be happy enough to throw others under the bus.
There’s also the problem of Coutts own terms and conditions which every customer of theirs agrees to.
Crying it’s not fair just doesn’t come into it.

No, I explained at length exactly what Johnson and Farage were all over NSC from the moment they first appeared on the political scene. I warned people against supporting them, and gave what has proven to be an incredibly accurate account of what would happen if Brexit was voted for at the referendum. I highlighted the NIP issues, the issues with implementing border controls (which we still haven't done) the impact on British exporters, the effect on the fishing, logistics, care, hospitality, NHS and other industries too many to mention, the Inflation it would cause and all the various other associated problems etc etc etc

I then continued to explain the best possible way out of the situation that we found ourselves in, post the 2016 referendum when May was PM. I warned against Johnson becoming leader of the conservative party and also warned in no uncertain terms about what would happen if he actually won a majority.

When he did win, I told everybody to batten down the hatches and try and protect themselves from the inevitable and entirely predictable incoming shitstorm. I even gave quite detailed financial advice on what to do to try and minimise the effect of Farage/Brexit/Johnson and protect yourself and your family.
