I wish Farage would have the courage to accept James O’Brien’s invitation to have a live debate about Brexit on his show. I’ve a feeling James would tear Nige a new one.
Farage is a coward. Like Johnson is a cowardI wish Farage would have the courage to accept James O’Brien’s invitation to have a live debate about Brexit on his show. I’ve a feeling James would tear Nige a new one.
But is it fair that anyone (whether you/we dislike them or not) should be prevented from using money simply on a nod and a wink from an anonymous source?Maybe someone’s been doing some digging and maybe Farage is possibly imminently to be exposed as being involved in something rather dodgy?
No bank is going to want to be associated or accused of being complicit with whatever it is he may or may not have been up to, are they?
Maybe they’ve been tipped the wink? So they’ve jettisoned him like the contents of an onboard chemical toilet?
He’s the Hoogstraten of politics and I hope IF he’s been involved in something wafty that he gets his just desserts.
We don’t know why the banks have shuttered his accounts or why others are refusing him new ones. But is it fair that anyone (whether you/we dislike them or not) should be prevented from using money simply on a nod and a wink from an anonymous source?
Surely if this can happen, and it has happened to people other than UKIP supporters, then there must be some sort of national bank (the Post Office used to fit the bill, but no longer) where anyone - even people suspected of criminal offences - can keep cash?
Surprise, surprise. Racist Burnley supports Farage. But is it fair that anyone (whether you/we dislike them or not) should be prevented from using money simply on a nod and a wink from an anonymous source?

It probably depends who the source is, doesn’t it? If it’s MI6 (for example) then they’d certainly pay attention. But is it fair that anyone (whether you/we dislike them or not) should be prevented from using money simply on a nod and a wink from an anonymous source?

I'm sure he'll be able to open a Cashminder basic bank account at The Co-op. His fan club in Burnley can sleep well tonight. But is it fair that anyone (whether you/we dislike them or not) should be prevented from using money simply on a nod and a wink from an anonymous source?

It was me. I tipped them off that he played a key role in the systematic and deliberate destruction of the U.K. economy with the intention of benefitting racists, millionaires, at-risk politicians, tax dodgers, and other assorted scallywags who have a fast and loose relationship with morals and a morally ambiguous relationship with their and our financial arrangements. It probably depends who the source is, doesn’t it? If it’s MI6 (for example) then they’d certainly pay attention.
I’m 70 odd years old, had the same bank account for 54 years and have never heard of anyone being refused a bank account particularly one they already held. But is it fair that anyone (whether you/we dislike them or not) should be prevented from using money simply on a nod and a wink from an anonymous source?

I think you may find that @Greg Bobkin's tongue was firmly in his cheek
No, I explained at length exactly what Johnson and Farage were all over NSC from the moment they first appeared on the political scene. I warned people against supporting them, and gave what has proven to be an incredibly accurate account of what would happen if Brexit was voted for at the referendum. I highlighted the NIP issues, the issues with implementing border controls (which we still haven't done) the impact on British exporters, the effect on the fishing, logistics, care, hospitality, NHS and other industries too many to mention, the Inflation it would cause and all the various other associated problems etc etc etcYou replied :
"We did indeed
But I'm just thankful that because I knew exactly what was coming, I didn't lose as badly (or continue to lose badly for years yet) as a very large proportion of those who actually voted for it "
So were you just wise after the event but then turned on others who were fooled?
So why did you vote leave? No, I explained at length exactly what Johnson and Farage were all over NSC from the moment they first appeared on the political scene. I then continued to explain the best possible way out of the situation that we found ourselves in, post the 2016 referendum when May was PM. I warned against Johnson becoming leader of the conservative party and also warned in no uncertain terms about what would happen if he actually won a majority.
When he did win, I told everybody to batten down the hatches and try and protect themselves from the fallout. I even gave quite detailed financial advice on what to do to try and minimise the effect of the Farage/Brexit/Johnson and protect yourself and your family.
It's all here on NSC, a good few thousand posts to this effect on here The Brexit Thread and on here The 2019 Election thread so fill your boots.
I'm really not sure what more I could have done to try and stop people being fooled
Absolutely no after timing whatsoever, it's almost spooky
Because I KNOW WHAT I WANT and I'm not going to let some condescending smartarse tie me in knots using simple logic and facts and stuff. It only made me It made me all the more determined to vote Leave. That'll show 'emSo why did you vote leave?
