The club and police stated previously that they wanted to treat away fans with respect and therefore fans were not kept behind tonight which I understand. However given the running battles around the stadium and then worse at the stations do you think next time Palace fans should be kept behind for 30 minutes?

Poll to follow.

Definitely not.

I appreciated the opportunity to delay my own departure - which coincided with everything being peaceful in the vicinity of the stadium and the railway station.

Definitely agree, the policing was awful tonight no segregation and letting the palace fans on the same train as the brighton fans which caused the fights at Brighton station, ridiculous

I think it is problematical as firstly holding them back for even 30 minutes is going to antagonise them but, more importantly, after 20 minutes our fans are still going to be 'around' as there is no way, at the moment, they can be 'cleared' from the stadium area.

I thought tonight was well-policed, certainly didn't see anything occur - police seemed lax, and if you treat us like humans not cattle, most proper fans respond - just a few idiots who everyone has will take the piss, but didnt seem to be many.

Or are you lot still bitter after the 5-0

so that the running battles and trouble at the stations can be delayed half an hour?

most the palace fans i saw where bobble haters and co, or lads keeping a resonable head down to get home before the last trains. as i point out in another thread, it was our so called fans that thought they should start a rebellion, throwing stones at the crowd. mind you, the police where hopeless slow at moving them on, must have been 10 min before they sent a group to move them along. stewards and police far too light on the bridge where a flash point could develop and get out of control fast.

Know I'm going to get abuse for this, but logically it would be the Brighton fans kept in. Keep us in, and you have 2500 Palace fans to move on to either platform straight to Brighton and Lewes stations, onto waiting trains for London. No problem, they could be out the area in half hour and half way home. If they kept in, you have 20,000 Brighton fans heading all over Sussex and beyond which as we know takes lot longer to clear. In the case wit the AMEX being kept in isn't as bad as we would have the bars, teles etc. True not what I would want, but is the most logical way

Will your lot be paying for all the damaged seats and signs that were nicked from the away end. How about your lot apologising to staff who were abused and hit !!

This is a club that won't pay St John's ambulance money they owe. Why do you think they'll say sorry?

Policing was a shambles, we were herded out of the ground and walked right in to a alrge bunch of Brighton fans waiting for the buses and trains, perfected. Recipe for disaster.

I thought there wasn't going to be any trouble, it doesn't happen anymore, remember? Treat people with respect and there won't be any problems we were continually told. Well, what a surprise, it kicked off. And certain people on here's naivety was proven yet again.

Feels bad to have a go at my club and stick up for the police but i thought last night just highlighted how terrible access is to and from the stadium.

The club have created this situation and its unfair to blame the police because they cant deal with it, its an impossible job. This will happen again and again until the transport issues are sorted out.

I thought there was a decent amount of police about and they did their best, but seeing as it takes so long to clear the ground you cant hold fans back in the evening long enough and they were forced to try and stop trouble when and where it happened.

I should clarify I am not blaming the police for last night, I think given the circumstances they did well, however I am asking the question that have Palace now lost the right to be treated as fans like other clubs as our club wanted and should they therefore be kept in like animals.
