On a scale of 1-10 how close is Welbz to becoming an Albion legend? Solid 9 and pushing hard!
He’s a legend. He’s quite clearly the best forward we’ve ever had. 150 appearances and close to our leading Premier League goal scorer. Not much more he can do.
People of a certain age go on about Peter Ward. How many games did he play for us in the top flight? It’s different levels. We are absolutely blessed to have him.

"Brighton have reached the quarter-final stage of the FA Cup for the fourth time since their first season as a Premier League club in 2017-18 (also 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2022-23).

Only Manchester City (7), Manchester United (6 before today) and Chelsea (5) have reached the final eight more often than the Seagulls in that time."

"It's great to get the winning goal. It was a solid team performance and there was a lot going on in that game today. Lots of ups and downs, but we stuck with it. I'm so proud of the lads."

"Newcastle can always put you under pressure. They are very dangerous, but we stuck to our guns and we put in a great shift."

"I am feeling very good, feeling fit and feeling strong. Thanks to my mum and dad for giving me good genes."

On Brighton's chances of winning the FA Cup:

"It is going to be really tough."

What an afternoon! Fair play to Newcastle hell of a game, old fashioned cup tie … wonder how many are fit for next weekend though?

Eddie Howe on Anthony Gordon's red card

"There were a lot of bodies" - No there wasn't (well, yeah there was after he did it)
"He didn't mean any harm" - ummm yes he did.

Did anyone notice Mitomas body language today? Looked a bit off. First a bit of a strop when a bad pass was fired at him and then when he barged his way out of the tunnel. Seemed most unlike him.

To the man who was dishing out the bananas at the half-marathon, you were wrong !

(My wife, who was also handing out the bananas, told me about how you were a BHA fan, on NSC, and thought we wouldn't win today).

Well, we did !!! UTA.

I've got to say, that was a huge performance and result. The game was on a knife edge for the whole match, there were plenty of ups and downs, ebbs and flows, momentum swings. Emotions would have been all over the place but we managed the game really well. We didn't lose our heads and dealt with the pressure and the situations really well. Something that we weren't great at earlier in the season.

That's a big tick for FH IMO and is exactly the sort of thing I've been looking for from him/the team.

Yes, second match in a row when our defeated opponents deserve our respect for a gallant effort and fine display of skills.
