You pay for 1901, hospitality etc. This is not that though, it’s creating ‘perks’ for some fans & not others.
i think they come and go in terms of offers but hasn't there been discounts for Amex Cardholders and , also A+ Members and Season Ticket Holders for buying merch, food and drink since the Amex opened. ?

Completely different IMO, it doesn't exclude you from certain areas, its just a discount on something everyone else is entitled to.

Having access to a part of the Terrace is not the same as getting 50p off your pint if you have a certain credit card. We can all buy a pint of Harveys . I get how its a negative for some (i'm sure there are some that object to the idea that the stadium is named after a credit card) but its certainly a perk available to some fans and not others which was the OP's objection and its something that the club have had in place since the Amex opened in various forms. .

For me personally, it doesn't bother me with a 10% discount, club level does annoy me a bit, because IMO, they've done nothing to earn that reward from the club other than own a piece of plastic. But ultimately after thinking about it over the weekend I do not really care that much!

The dull part of the south coast
If you’re happy with a BHAFC fanzone having exclusion zones for those who don’t have a particular type of credit card then that’s fine.

Personally I think it’s absolutely crap and symptomatic of some of the twattery at play at BHAFC.

I support the team, like the way we conduct ourselves in the transfer market and we have an owner who is also a fan. But I do not like the corporate bollocks that creates an us & them situation.

You pay for 1901, hospitality etc. This is not that though, it’s creating ‘perks’ for some fans & not others.

If you don’t like my view then fine, but I also don’t care what you think.
Did you get out of the wrong side of the bed this morning or are you auditioning to be Grumpy in the next Christmas pantomime of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves? :lolol:

I suppose if American Express have coughed up £££millions in sponsoring the Albion then you can’t really begrudge them a bit of payback with this venture.

I've had a small it of to-and-fro. The club are putting together an expanded FAQ based on questions raised from me and, I'm sure, others, but a few bits...

- The downstairs is bigger
- It will not be the case that the Amex area is sparsely populated whilst the general area is rammed - this will be managed sensibly.
- (I was wrong) The club are hopeful of screening away games even if they are not UK-televised, but they need to ask for Premier League permission.
Did you get an answer from the club to see if the whole upstairs bit is for Amex card holders? Or just part of it? Sorry if ive missed that somewhere.

Agree they have, just seems a bit of a weird corporate Us v Them thing from them, have always hated this nonsense at Music Festivals, and I think it makes the experience worse, because people who actually bring atmosphere will be elsewhere. I think its trying to hard to manufacture atmosphere rather than let it grow organically, alas, like I said I don't really care that much. At a music festival following my example, I don't want to be in the golden circle with a load of people with Lanyards, I'd rather be in the other areas with the people in the pit.

What I’m concerned about is how many cuckooing CCJ, low credit ranking free loaders from the mosh pit are going to make it into the golden area with their Amex card holder hostage. I think the authorities should be on the look out for this blatant abuse! 😄

It may be unjustified as its not open yet BUT empty the terrace seems to protrude too far into main thoroughfare nr ticket office etc that basically it in the way foo=ill it with 3000 people and could be chaotic people coming going AND trying to pass, now add a Palace escort how is that going to work? Fans kettled in the Terrace?

The palace escort was fine when it happened with it half finish earlier in the season.

the numbers likely to be congregating there in that space are no different from the numbers that congregated there before buying beer and fish and chips and burgers from the outside stands. Except they now have a roof over them.
