This all feels a bit unnecessary.

One of the benefits of The Terrace is that it will provide a pleasant alternative for some fans who don't need to rush away from the Amex at the end of the game. Some, not all.

The fact is a large majority of fans do want to rush away at the end of an evening game because they need to travel home, get to bed and be up for work the following day. Hell, a lot of folk rush away before the end of games to speed up their escape.

It looks to be a fantastic facility which will provide many benefits, some marginal and some more significant, such as being a place where a large group of Albion fans can gather to watch live beambacks of away games, not otherwise available to watch anywhere else.

I'm not sure it deserves to be rubbished before it's even opened, just because it's not a heated and catered railway waiting room for 15,000 people.
Are you saying they can show away games not available elsewhere (i.e on Sky, TNT etc)?

Everyone seems to assume that the Amex exclusive area will in some way be better than downstairs. It might well be that it attracts "business" types up there, has little atmosphere, and is not the sort of place that I for one would like to go.

I don't know. Nobody does. But everybody seems to do an awful lot of assuming nowadays!

and likely too hot.

The dull part of the south coast
Perhaps a question that has already been covered, but will we be allowed to take drinks outside of the terrace?
I just wonder if there’s a kind of ‘perimeter fence’ enclosing the Terrace so as to ensure a degree of control. When I went to Villa Park last season their fan zone entrance was through a gate with stewards in attendance. A couple of my friends were not allowed in, don’t know the reason, but maybe to avoid overcrowding.

chosen ones being those who filled out a 2 min website to get a free bit of plastic they are not obliged to spend on
I'm pretty sure that if I spent those two minutes I'd just reduce my already low credit score and not have a bit of plastic.
I'm sure I'm far from alone in this position.

I agree wholeheartedly on the frustrations many feel and experience. I said it on a thread earlier this week that it feels like there's be a significant shift recently where a lot of season ticket holders have given up on evening games, and that's not great.

I love being at the Amex to watch us play. I get pissed off with getting to and from there, and I've also missed the odd game because I simply think "I can't be arsed with the hassle".

But The Terrace isn't and wasn't intended to be a panacea for all transport woes, which is why rubbiishing it feels somewhat harsh to me.
After a few wins I was a tad surprised at the number of empty seats for Tuesdays game…..and it was a cracking match

It will be a very good facility which as others have said over the last couple of weeks or so has been given the unwarranted status as rubbish and a waste of time and money before its even opened

bit like pundits last summer say we would be bottom three due to age of new manager ...

personally will happily use if for up to an hour before four hour plus drive home

and no I haven't got an Amex card either

Yes - that is the hope.

I understand they will need to ask for permission on a case by case basis, but are optimistic that they will generally be permitted to do so.

I wondered that, never used the outdoor food outlets but liked a beer outside on a nice day. If there is a 2000 outdoor capacity will it be fenced in, will you by able to buy a pint outside and stand elsewhere.

An experience for Amex cardholders and BHAFC fans….apparently they’re not one and the same. The terrace needs a entrance card to get in.

The same here, we’re flying. Only found out it was live on TNT when I was at the game, was that a significant added factor?

Evening Amex games during the 2022/23 season run in, from memory, the place appeared rammed.

This comment won’t be popular in some quarters but there’s an element of “can’t be bothered to go when it’s cold/wet/on TV/not big 6 opponents/might be travel problems/school next day/got a cold/etc”.

Apathy seems to be a growing problem amongst a section of our STHs. Paradoxically the lower crowds can at times create a louder and more supportive atmosphere.
