Yes, but as someone that has worked in marketing do you not think they could have taken the opportunity to advertise the move a bit more than just mentioning it in the programme (which most people DON'T buy) in order to see if they could stimulate some sales from people wanting to nose at the new shop? It's not often Knight misses a trick when it comes to spinning positives from a situation but he has here.

Yep, and when it happens, I'm sure they'll shout that bit louder about it.

Was the problem with the ticketing system yesterday due to the imminent move ? Sounded like a cock up by the telecoms provider as the recording on the line was "This number is unavailable" so either a technical fault or the disconnection/reassignment was programmed in too early.

Does Knight have to do everything at the club? The shop has a manager, what s/he done about the move? The club has a commercial manager, promotions manager and a marketing manager what have any of they done about it?

Whilst I couldn't give a flying f*** whether the shop is in Queens road or the Queens back garden i think it's a bit harsh singling Knight out for criticism for something so minor.

That said Knight is to blame for everything else this season so he might as well take the rap for this as well.

Possibly.

However, from remembering what was there, I think it's a bigger space. The facade is about the same size, but I think it goes back further.
I think the row of shops and offices on the other side of the road are owned by an Insurance group so the club might have got larger premises on a better rental agreement.

It's very rarely that I criticise Knight, but as PR is his game then yes, I think he can take some stick for missing a trick here.

What trick is he missing?

The bloody thing isn't even open yet. The stock isn't in the shop, and by the looks of things, the club isn't even ready to move in there yet.

I'm sure they've pencilled in a moving in date, so when it's closer to the time, out will come the PR and they will start ratcheting it up. Until then...

It's next week. You've got a proper blind spot for the club's mistakes. I love it. It's a lot nicer than all the people on here who snap at anything that goes wrong.

I used to live at one point above the Cat & Cucumber restaurant on Queens Road when my parents were getting divorced and I moved out and into B&B above the restaurant and sandwich shop. IIRC the restaurant closed down in 1980 as the Freeholder (Insurance group?) wanted to convert it into office accomodation.

I think this thread sums up Brighton fans nicely. Even when they get good news, THEY STILL SODDING WHINGE ABOUT IT!!!

I think where the club shop is now is fine, no need to move. Its ideal for the people who are walking down from the station and towards the station, and could easily just pop in when needs be. On the otherside mind you, its less busy and people don't take a blind bit of notice.

I'd have thought TLO of all people would be able to see that moving a shop to a side of the road that nobody walks down is a fairly silly mistake, suggesting the clubs finances have got pretty bad if they need to move.

Silly me. And there's the club telling us that it's opening in May, with full details being announced in due course (i.e. when they're ready). f*** me, I really wasn't expecting that answer from Insider.

Even for you, that's a dumb-arse post.

Of course, walking down the other side of the street will automatically preclude people from seeing it or walking in. And bearing in mind that they have wanted to move away from where they are almost the day they moved in, having a bigger shop is always indicative of bad club finances. Bollocks to the possiblities of increasing sales by having a better trading space eh?

Some could argue that by being on the other side of the road it is more visible to the people walking down the western pavement of Queens road, and to those coming from the clocktower.

Are you really trying to say that people won't go into the shop because it's on the other side of the road?

Passing trade for the club shop is pretty much restricted to Albion fans (or relatives of) who already know the shop is there. I'd say a sign in the window saying 'we are now on the other side of the road' is enough.

Any excuse for a moan though.

I know I am being really dumb, but will we have a BHA store/shop at Falmer?
