Everything I say will clearly be an issue for you, so is there any point responding? I don’t like that it is being enforced for one group and not the other, and I don’t like that people are having assumed guilt. Is that ok? You don’t agree with that and that’s fine, I imagine you probably won’t question my belief of whether the club do good, based on that.

Of course not. I understand that for some - this is insulting and an inconvenience. I get that. - it’s the leap to - this club only care about “corporate” fans over and above everybody else that I think is a big stretch . And why I commented.

The thing is when you say your rights are being infringed you are speaking to a generation who were frogmarched between railway stations and grounds in enforced police escorts, often kept in grounds for ages after the final whistle eg Portsmouth where we spent an hour or so in the lane behind the away end waiting for the police to allow us out, had to watch games through fences, at one stage needed ID cards and were generally treated like shit. Many of us give short shrift to the idea that having to collect a ticket at an away ground represents anything at all in comparison, particularly as many of us have done exactly that in the past without the luxury of dedicated Albion stewards handing out the tickets outside the away end.

No one EVER had to have ID cards to go to football, thatcher tried and got shot down for it.

Never in peacetime have British citizens had to carry ID cards and hopefully never will,.

As for you other points you basically say " we had to put up with worse, we done our time now you should be grateful it is not so bad"

Why not say "we suffered, we protested and that is why things are better for you"

I didn’t actually say this tbf, I said the crux of the issue is that some are getting preferential treatment to others, in probably cruder terms than I could have, then I got a paragraph saying how I think all they want to do is make money. Despite multiple times saying that I agree at why Neville’s Breakfast is angry about the ticket selling, I understand his issue, I respect that, and have been polite replying to him.

I don’t agree with a club policy and there seems to be some idea that I think they are all evil, I don’t! I think this is an issue that will go away after Brentford because the next three games haven’t even sold out, it doesn’t even affect me.I just don’t like it because I want to see a better fan experience for people in English football, which I have observed in other countries, which leads to a better day out, without me having to bring ID for everything, which while might not happen at our club, has led to other clubs being very authoritarian with their supporters and choosing who can and cannot come. While a lot of good has come out of modern football, there is also some bad which rather than lie down and accept, I think might need to be challenged sometimes. I think the loyalty point system is generally fair, but there are many who it isn’t to as well.

I'm glad drinking isn't allowed on a coach. If drinking was allowed I wouldn't use a coach to get to games.

And that’s fine, there can be drinking coaches and non drinking coaches, but it shouldn’t be legislation and it should be a choice.

No, I’m afraid that’s wrong. The new rules apply to everyone not just the youngsters so this contrived generational thing is just rubbish. I am just as likely to need to collect tickets as is Jack. I am simply explaining what actual infringement of rights looks like. Oh and I remember having to show a membership card away at Aldershot.
Are you the BHA druv or the Palace druv ?

Get a life and get in the 21st Century. Sounds like you want football to be in the dark ages of the 70s and 80s. It's pathetic.

Was there also a membership scheme for the terraces at the Goldstone at one time?Or am I going senile in my old age?

definitely not senile. I very much remember the membership cards at the Goldstone and am fairly sure there was a price for members and non members

Sharon Duce (Big Deal) bottom right, doesn’t look too happy and although the lad in front of the now third kit isn’t celebrating, it’s probably more to do with how pissed he is

Your saying the blonde lady and lad in super dry hoody are definitely BHA? So just the father and kid probably not…?

Not sure the relevance of that comment as we're talking about away tickets. That said, what two tier pricing system are you referring to in the first place? The ticket price of away games is the same for everyone whether you're a STH, 1901 or Albion +.

Don't remember any membership scheme, only Terrace Season Tickets which were cheaper than paying weekly.

When did I say at any point, only young people have to pick up tickets?

How is not wanting to have ID checks into entertainment venues wanting to go back to the 1980s?

Well adding to Neville's Breakfasts reference to the past, I seem to recall drinking on the Albion Specials was also not allowed. Seem to remember Stavros keeping a check on things.

You moan about generational references but you have no idea how much better away trips are these days compared to the past and all you're doing is whinging about having to turn up 10 minutes earlier to collect tickets that you should be entitled to and confirm that with ID.

Just out of interest, did you ever have to confirm your id to get in a night club?

Because you seem to be clueless about what it was like. Wuntbedruv seemed to be referring to more than just ID checks and you yourself mentioned about drinking on coaches.

Very few away games were all ticket as supply of space far exceeded demand. It's the opposite now hence the loyalty scheme, hence the need to check that it's not being abused and the only way to do this is proof of ID.

Nah sorry my comment was more about the membership cards. I have no problem with present day club policy. Showing ID to collect away tickets is hardly the end of the world.

So why do you think they are better now, because everyone say around and went, this is really good? Don’t know how many times I have to say it, I think it’s good to spread the loyalty points around, I don’t like how it’s double standards for another group. Queuing up for 10 minutes is the least of the issue here, but alas, you aren’t going to be convinced because you’ve made your mind up, already. The future of the club is the younger fans and a lot of young fans don’t like the policy, but if you spent anytime on here you’d imagine that they’d want coke dispensaries in the concourse. Football special trains now you can drink on, that law changed, because people went about it. I don’t have to pick up my ticket at Brentford and that is fine, what is stupid is that there is some perception that everyone who doesn’t like this policy hates the club.

Also just banging on about how it was bad in the old days and is good now is completely irrelevant, it’s 2022. Just because positive change has been made, doesn’t mean further positive change can’t be made.

I have given my ID in a nightclub because it’s the law to be 18 to be in there, nothing by law restricts me from being at a football match.

So, firstly it seems you don't have a problem with carrying ID to get in a night club so not sure why you're worried about it at a football match.

The away experience is so much better than it was. You can go to an away game and at most places drink in virtually any pub. You can wear your colours without the threat of some moron lamping you from behind. We can also get there a bit early, have a few beers, talk to the home fans, get to the ground and still have a great atmosphere and even when we win, still have drink after the game before hoping on a train home. You didn't experience it before so you have nothing to compare it with so perhaps trust some of us who are a little older that have.

What football special trains are you talking about? I'm not aware of any. We travel to most away games by train, when they're running. They are not football specials, just the normal service. Even the enhanced service from and to Falmer on home games are not 'football specials'. What exactly do you mean by sharing around loyalty points? You are of course right about the future of the club being the younger fans but that doesn't mean they should get special dispensation. As you say, the future is yours so bide your time. The loyalty scheme should work but it's clear it is being abused by a minority so it now needs to be policed.
